Story
This series take place when Gensoukyou doesn't exist yet, around 1700-1800. In this time, oni roams on the surface, have tengus work for them and humans raging war against oni and youkai. Also, Koishi still have her eye open.
The story now focuses around The Four Heavenly Kings (Shitennou) helping Satori move to the Underworld and a side story.
(I may not provide the correct Touhou lore so please refer to this site to understand Touhou's timeline/lore: en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Gensoky...)
References/Jokes
00:03 : Boké, tsukkomi: In Owarai (Japanese comedy) usually has two roles, boké (the simple-minded one, who misinterpretate or forget thier lines) and tsukkomi (the reasonable one that criticizes, abuse (verbal or physical) at the boké's mistakes), see Touhou M-1 Grand Prix (or any Japanese comedy) for examples.
00:30 : Blue-colored oni: The main enemy of a RPG maker game called 'Ao oni'.
01:49 - 01:58 : Oni do not lie. Kasen says it's an accident 'cause she didn't want Suika and Konngara to follow her. Yuugi broke the door, not the wall. Konngara avoids the subject, because she did nothing. Suika broke the wall.
03:15 : Daruma-Otoshi: A traditional japanese game in which you use a hammer to hit a ring from a tower, without letting other rings fall in progress. Visual examples:

• Daruma-Otoshi
06:14 : RI-I-YU U-JI-TO-RI YA-MA-A KI-RA-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE-PE: This is a password called "Fukkatsu no Jumon" (Mantra of Resurrection) for the cheat code in the Japanese Famicom version of Dragon Quest II (Dragon Warrior II), and it consists of the staff's names (Horii Yuuji, Miyaoka Hiroshi, Kimura Hajime, Toriyama Akira). If you use this "mantra," you can play the game as a Level 48 character. The full text:

07:17 : Yamame's name (ヤマメ) can be interpret as follow:
1) Yamame (山女): Mountain girl, a reference to a mythical demon in Japanese folklore, the story goes with this interpretion.
2) Yamame (八ま目): Eight eyes, posibly referencing spiders having many eyes.
07:22 : Zinedine could (posibly) be a reference to the manager of Real Mandrid, Zinedine Zidane.
