I love the way they were able to really expand this song and flesh it out. Is it just me, or are the lyrics much clearer in this version, as well as some of the other songs. Appreciate that all band members played a part. Beautifully done!

Didn’t think it was possible to make this song better but this is epic 👌👌 class

This is THE ONE from the reworked songs. Really enjoy it, however the version they played around 98/99 is still my standout version of this gorgeous track.

I'd just like to let you know that l really enjoy your dive through the whole of the Duran Duran's back catalogue song by song & (as here) a lot of value in their B-sides. I think this will grow on me. Although l love the minimalism of instruments & sparseness on the original a great deal. Keep up the good work.

👻 Woo-hoo, I'm much too late for Halloween 2023 but this song will stand strong for years to come. Loved the original version, the melody, those obscure lyrics - it's probably my favorite song from their 1983 output. And it was the song that got me interested in your reaction videos in the first place because while everyone else was doing Hungry Rio Notorious Ordinary Wild Boys, "Secret Oktober" seemed like such an odd choice. It even made me join KZitem to be able to give you likes and add some comments. I am still here doing exactly that. And look how your channel has grown since then. 💜 Anyways, I love what they did with this song that already seemed perfect. For me, it shines even brighter now.

Some other gems from the 80s, which Duran dominated. The Passions, Im In Love With A German Filmstar. Grandmaster Flash White Lines. Mantronix, Bassline. Public Enemy, Fight The Power. Eric B Rakim, Follow The Leader. Ofra Haza, Im In Alu. Go for the UK mix. Her voice was of the scales. Born in Yemen, raised in Israel. All of these are brilliant

One for you to listen to. It's an interview with John Taylor talking about their new album. On Greatest Hits Radio, I think yesterday, You Tube clip entitled John Taylor discusses their new album, where apparently cover Tribe Called Quest, Roxy Music, older Duran songs updated. Lots of respect for this ban been going for over 40 years. Debbie Harry of Blondie who called them back in early days, the real deal. Amazing clip of them playing Atlanta, which was the last place Prince did a gig. They must have known something was wrong as this performance was four days before he died. As a tribute to Prince did a live version of Save A Prayer. Stunning clip

Now THIS is where this project works. It's such a strong song anyway but as the original is perfect it's impossible to improve on perfection...however this is a successful treatment of fleshing out the original, maintaining it's ethereal qualities but building a more layered warmer track. The bass and drums, fit in a do the new guitar parts , the music box elements pull in the feel if the original keyboard lines but give a new sound to the track. I love the Tim Burton analogy, I can definitely see him using it in a project, heck, get him to direct a video of the band ! Faultless

Related to the music on this review. Duran Duran. Track Burning The Ground. It's kinda a nice mix from their big hits in the 80s. Love this track. Video is good as well.

That's fair, they may be the least pleasing aspect. But I do like the fuller sound and guitar work.

@mattsnider2667 absolutely, which is another reason I'm disappointed in just that part. Had he layered his own vocals as he has for the last 40 years, it would have been *chef's kiss* perfect

Good for a holiday/special occasion, but I don't think I'm more permanently/longer-term swayed from the original. Glad you brought it forward, as I didn't know it existed. I could hear this in a movie also - Tim Burton to be sure - but others too...I do think the beginning and end are my favorite.

I love this a lot, it’s a great rework but in my opinion here they missed the chance to officially record the 2000 live version of this magnificent track

to me, I feel like this was another one where there was no point. I feel this doesn't add anything or improve to the original and the new chords don't make much sense to me. I dunno, I'm let down a lot by this album :(
