On a whim one night, I took apart one of these Key Tronic boards (not the KidTronic, but in all black) and gave it a deep clean, applied 303 protectant to the plastics and keycaps, and then lubricated the keycap stems and the channels the stems slide through with Super Lube (the same stuff I glob onto the awful, rattly stabilizers of any keyboard to help silence them) and it made it feel FANTASTIC; it reduced out ALL the rattle from the key wobble and made every key press silky smooth. Maybe not as nice as some fancy Alps tactile switches, but a significant improvement to the look, feel and sound of the keyboard. It's been about two years and it still looks pristine and feels great.

What a lovely looking Mouse and Keyboard Set. I would have liked this, when I was a kid. What a shame that this is only a Rubber dome keyboard. If that thing had mechanical switches, this would have been sick. But otherwise, I really adore the funky and unique color scheme. This is definitely something special. Great video as always. Keep up the great content. One can see that you put a lot of effort into your videos.

Don't sell them too short -- some of the Key Tronic rubber domes were absolutely outstanding. (Unfortunately, at some point, they cheapened or maybe just changed them and that superior feeling was gone. I'm not sure which variant this keyboard would have used.)

There sure isn't a shortage of people on eBay who must have a crack habit. Key Tronic sold that same mouse in plain beige. Having a different "PC Cheaps" motherboard with different looking fake cache chips, I have wondered if those chips actually contained anything or if they were just empty plastic cases with leads attached.

Some eBay sellers tend to ask way too much for whatever item they are selling. Back in the late 70's I bought from Woolworth's a Sanyo stereo system with two 8 inch-two way speakers, two microphones and a demo cassette tape. It had cassette, 8 track play/record AM/FM receiver with weighted tuner and a BSR turntable with a magnetic cartridge. Sanyo model JXT 6910 and i paid slightly over $300.00 brand new in the box. Went looking on eBay some time ago for this model and found one minus speakers, microphone and dust cover. That joker of a seller had the nerve to ask $300.00

Yeah, on a J9 variant now and even though they are some sort of pressure rubber dome, but they have their own patented version where they are much tougher and some are also harder to press than others as others are much easier to press, and it is a total system, that works! HOWEVER, I see that many SUPER BiG KZitemrs whom do KEYBOARD reviews, HATE anything rubber dome and even some Keytronic if not least “OVER-ALL” but I love them and bought this BLACK KEYTRONIC PS2/AT/XT ENHANCED RARER version of the Keytronic rubber domes "Lifetime Series we are remember but now are mostly all gone since the GREAT purge of 2017/18… To me these keyboards FEEL as close as you will EVER get to ACTUAL pricey SWITCHES WITHOUT BEING THEM whatsoever and COMBINED that with the FACTS on how many diff models even though THEY look the same with cool features and that they just LAST forever unless YOU DONE spilled water on them, that can take them OUT..... they are AWESOME and also now, harder and harder to find, found my last on eBay for $31 shipped, to me was worth it for this particular model from the mid 90's the first model for win 95 before the purple connector for the "PS/2 connection was standard/code ... @@ReganMarcelis I also loved the original Mitsumi 104s from that time period circa 1995. They felt very similar to the Keytronic shown in the video. I used the same one for about 20 years and then one day the keyboard controller inside it failed. So I did what most would not do; took it apart gently and swapped that controller out with a known good one that someone spilled coke in the keyboard. I have had success cleaning up coke in some keyboards too using alcohol and contact cleaner. But some are beyond help. I ran that Mitsumi till I had to dump that at style barrel plug on my latest build in March 2022. I went to one of those fully mechanical usb keyboards that are backlite now. It's inherent to ABS because of its chemical composition (particularly the butadiene part) and its reaction to UV light. The worst part is that the discoloration also contributes to mechanical and structural degradation of ABS. If you've heard about fire retardants being the cause for discoloration (as much has been said about the bromine solutions applied to SNES consoles), these are NOT the cause of yellowing.
