I believe these are some of the generalised misconceptions that are bandied around. Even in a family there are differences of personal characters so what about a community, tribe, nation? It is illogical to imagine that 180 million people will behave a certain way. In every group of people you will find the good the bad and the ugly . That's what life is diversity and if we were ro open our eyes to it we will see a lot of beauty as opposed to seeing only negative issues

I think what make Nigerians great is also their shortcoming. Nigerians are everywhere because they push boundaries. They want the best for themselves. They don't stop hustling. However, this is also their undoing because some people feel they brag a lot, they are rude and pushy. There is no in-between. Additionally, most of the people arrested for drugs and other such vices are Nigerians. So that image worsens the case. Still wonderful people.

As a Kenyan living in SA I agree with most things and most people here. I definitely feel at home in SA and we have many things in common. Just to highlight 1. Weather patterns more or less the same just the winter in SA is a real winter of lows of 1 or even negative. 2. Food is more or less the same varities and prepared in similar fashion. I miss chapatis and mandazis from home though. I dont carry maize flour anymore I have all I need in SA for my ugali/ pap. 4. SA accent is easy to understand. They are so polite and a sophisticated posh society easy to just adjust and enjoy the country and people. 5. Infrastructure is way over the top in SA. We are coming up well in Kenya but have many years to catch up to be at SA level. 6. Health SA is number 1 in Africa on that and everything else though home Kenya is still best to me. 7. As for Nigerians these our brothers you cannot compeletely ignore them they have big personalities they are gifted have produced serious professionals and innovators, they lead in music and movies, dressing, strong sense of culture. But I don't mingle with them and I have no plans to live in Nigeria. SA anyday anytime.

Your analysis is very correct. Ethnically, culturally and through bloodlines Kenyans are very close to South Africans as they all constitute the eastern arm of Bantu people migration from the Biafra(Igbo) and Southern Cameroon. We all speak the upper Niger Benue bantu languages. As a Kenyan, when I visited South Africa and traveled around I just eased in. When South Africans speak in Zulu, Xhosa, Limpopo languages (Listen to Sho madjozi, Mariam Makeba, Ivonne Chaka Chaka and many others...music, we have similar dialects). I do understand their tongue to almost 70% of what they say. In fact whenever I visit any home in South Africa I feel like iam in Kakamega, western Kenyan town. We drink umqomboti(Busaa) the African beer that Ivonne Chaka Chaka composed in one of her songs. Anyway sister don't worry we are all Africans, from the same family, my best friend and buddy in the USA here is a Nigerian from Yoruba but also have friends from Igbo, Fulani and Hausa. I have been in Nigeria but I don't like the differences that are created among these top three major tribes in Nigeria. I love the people in Cross river state-Nigeria, they even offered me land and a wife. Let us love 💘ourselves, we are all Afrikans with Ethiopia/Addis Ababa or Filifiniti us our headquarters. Therefore we tend to relate more with SA than Ng. 5) Crime. Most Kenyans feel that majority of Nigerians in Kenya enter illegaly and engage in crime for money. Child trafficking, drugs, money laundering and such vices. They are always arrested, even in our airports Nigerians are more suspected more than any other Africans because they are more likely to be involved in crime. Kenya is more relatable to South Africa culturally. We are majority Bantu countries. Cultural ties run deep. Its easier to adjust to each others' ways and mannerisms, cuisines, language and practices. My Tribe, the Luhya, we have cultural circumsicion practices very similar to those of the Xhosa people. The Zulu language sounds very easy for me as a Luhya man to learn, I already understand some of it without even learning it. And before we even heard about Nollywood and Afrobeat music, we already had lots of South African Kwaito and Congolese Rhumba on our radio stations and in the clubs. Now, we can always find ways to relate to each other as Africans from all corners of the continent. Kenyans infact, relate with Nigerians better than South Africans relate with Nigerians, Even though we interface better with South Africans compared to Nigerians. @Ledama Yes we bantu got circumcision from the Nilotes. I'm not surprised that it's a thing in the bible. But I find luhya language and culture to be very similar to Southern African, even how they pronounce words e.g the 'kh' sound, saying 't' instead of 'd' etc

-Wildlife tourism is relatively the same with the big five in both places and similarities in topography though South Africa is colder. -The two countries love rugby and play cricket in addition to the usual soccer etc. -The two airways; Kenya Airways and South Africa airways have partnered. -Both Jomo Kenyatta and Nelson Mandela were imprisoned and exiled within their own countries for extended periods of time and both ascended to presidency as soon as they were released from captivity. - Actually Bantus originated from west Africa by Benue - cross rivers in Nigeria and spread to sub Sahara Africa. But they seem to have left West Africa completely. The igbo and Yorba come from the same root as bantu but are not bantu. -The brutality they both experienced from their colonizers was quite similar with creation of concentration camps, and eviction from their native lands to create game ranches, farms and parks for the white colonizers, use of ID cards on Africans to travel, segregation, torture, imprisonment, executions and after both attained freedom, plenty of the white colonizers remained and become part of the community. - The presence of Indians was deliberate through importation of low skilled labor by the British to build their respective railways during colonial times and the Indians were subsequently awarded with 2nd class treatment. - Both Kenyans and South Africans think they are Jamaican when high.. 😂😂 -Lastly, east and sub-saharan Africans are generally timid, smaller in stature, polite and value congeniality. On the other hand, people from west Africa can be super aggressive, loud and egocentric. Show me a Nigerian who can whisper and I shall show you the one eyed giant. - Thank you for your videos.

I think what needs to happen is for more Africans to fall in love and and inter-marry. It is a great tool for Africans to see each other as equals. Yes, one country / region might be superior in one way, but it means another country / region is superior in another way. When we join forces as African nations we will have more bargaining power in the world stage. Imagine all African nations coming together to market and sell the strengths of Nigeria to the world. Then joining forces together to market and sell the strengths of South Africa to the world. Then again coming together to market and sell the strengths of Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Botswana, Ethiopia, DRC…until we have all capitalized from each other. That is how we are meant to be. That is what Kwame Nkrumah wanted in the first place. He said the independence of Ghana in 1957 meant nothing without the independence of other nation states. One love to Africa ❤️

Hi, great content 💝. Language is also one thing we share, Swahili has words that are similar, sound and have same meaning to most Nguni and Basotho/Batswana/Bapedi and so forth. But one major respect we have for each other is patriotism, SAcns respect patriotic Afrikans and that list has countries like Namibia, Zambia, Angola, Ghana, Eswatini and all countries with men who are willing to fight for economic emancipation. We pride ourselves of home so we also respect those that thrive for a better country! Nigerians are ok, they just tend to over do things! When a man talks good about himself the first thing a SAcn and a Kenyan will do is look at where you come from, because charity begins as home! We respect the fact that Kenyans are not economic migrants, they are skilled migrants just like SAcns, they value their political environment and participate in elections. They demand better service delivery, infrastructure and better living conditions from their leadership! That is what must be respected in a nation, an ability to create a conducive environment for your children to thrive, not fight to be in another man's country when you are afraid of facing your own leadership! Respect is earned, not demanded!

The Youruba and Igbo from the South are your epitome of pride but the Hausa and Fulani from the North who are always war like and your over reliance on oil and the fact that you are always carrying your politicians and the VIPs on security convoys is not making your image better for you. When a Nigerian leaves Nigeria and goes to the West they burn their passports i can give you story upon story. The Igbo tribe are the business men of Africa and the Yoruba are the intellectuals of Africa but that said i can never want to go to Nigeria ,you have already shown us that ,"you hate it as much" if a Nigerian as money he will build a "veery",huge house in the village to show others how blessed he or she has become.. i can go on and on , i have never even been to Nigeria but i can never want to go there."Image "is so important.

That's a great analysis. What I know from my international travels is that what you read and hear about is very different from what you actually experience on the ground so to speak. My experience is that where we have not been unduly influenced by capitalism, we Africans are the most hospitable people. Your comment, for example that the Northerners are war like can only come from stories you've heard that have created those kinds of misconceptions in your mind.

Am Kenyan but I don't think we don't like any country in Africa but when it comes to Nigeria is another thing,,they like talk alot that doesn't even add anything, like issue of better food, music, you consider yourself to the richest in Africa and sometimes you go on saying without you guys no one would have known African,,you just sick on social media btw,, people have different type taste of music, food and so on,each country in africa is unique on its own,,anyway we still love you

You are right, Kenya is 70% Bantus and south Africa is 75% Bantus. Bantus are the same family group, same culture and languages share a lot of similarities. So, you will find many words in south African dialects are the same as those used by Kenyan tribes. This is why we get along more.

Not all Black South Africans are Bantu or full Bantu, millions of Black South Africans are Khoe or have Khoi ancestry and San mix across Tswana, Xhosa, Zulu and Sotho people…you literally see it in their looks

@@our10picks18 no Khoi aren’t related to the pygmies in central Africa…they originate from east Africa…Khoi DNA has been found through studies to be close to some ethnicities in China…they are called the original living humans for a reason. other than small stature they don’t share any other physical resemblance in eyes, face shape or skin tone with pygmies. Stop making stuff up
