Kogami and the Professor discuss Shogo Makishima at the breakfast table. “What you call a safe society, I call a prison. Panopticon.” ~ Shogo Makishima
Makishima is such a fascinating antagonist. And Kogami's ability to get inside his head is so entertaining to watch.

I started reading and studying philosophy because of Psycho-Pass my entire life changed, my view on things, everything. I kind of owe my life to Makishima and Kogami, and to this day I still read something and think "hey, that is why they did that in psycho-pass". For example, the killer who turned bodies into art is a metaphor for the rational government serving what it deems and decides to be the better interest of the people. One of my political philosophy texts said this: “Humanity is the raw material upon which I impose my creative will; even though men suffer and die in the process, they are lifted by it to a height to which they could never have risen without my coercive - but creative - violation of their lives.“ - Isaiah Berlin I cried when Makishima lost because, in a sense, our society as it is now lost.

This is by far the best comment ive ever read! I feel the same! Ive always liked reading books from people like Goethe or Shakespeare but he made me think about it different… ive started reading books like 1984- george Orwell or Pensées- Blaise Pascal and Ive started to spent a lot time on learning about philosophy and Psychologie

Shogo Makishima will always be Animes greatest villain and I think if I would live in psycho pass I would think the same way he does (I already do… reading 1984 for example completely changed my kind of thinking..) that’s why his methods and his complete being is absolutely relatable for me

@@setyourheartablaze20 I’m half French so I bought Pascal’s Pensées in French but I’m struggling to read it lol. But really same, the first like 10 books in my bookshelf are all related to Psycho-pass and the rest is from philosophy or mentioned in the psycho-pass books i picked up.
