When he got 40/40, he did it in a spectacular fashion with a grand slam HR. He got 51/51 with crazy stats.. 😳😳

6 for 6, 3 homers, 10 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, 20 total bases, 10 runs, hitting almost a cycle. All on a night when he clinched 50/50 for the first time in history with Dodgers making the playoffs. Setting a team record for HRs. All this when he is also a regular a starting pitcher. And the 51st homer came when all the others were already accomplished. Possibly the greatest single individual performance in a game in MLB history.

I bought my father father replacement Dodgers hat last night and ohtani broke the record. I told Dad it was his lucky hat. My head is still in good shape and so is my son's. Our family has been Dodger fans from Brooklyn to La. This was awesome. I am going to keep the receipt to that hat as a record.

We always are comparing players separated by 2-3 generations (or more) of players. Shohei is the only reason I got interested in baseball again. There have been many comparisons to Ruth over the years and the comparisons have all been great players themselves. The one stat the everybody (including this show) is batting average, especially lifetime batting average. However Shohei has stolen more bases in the last 3-4 years than Ruth had in his career which of course generates runs much like a 2 out single does, sometimes. Great show today.

Just by production he's already the Greatest ever. He's the most valuable player on and off the court and it's not close. But I agree even tho he's the most talented player ever he needs to win. All he needs is 1 chip and he's the GOAT. Because you can't debate he's the most talented ever. He can literally do it all.

Either Ohtani gambled or his the biggest idiot when it comes to his money. I don't see how someone could steal $17 million from him and he never noticed.

I saw a catcher give up a homerun to Ohtani. Calm down. Probably a 58 mpher. Lots of people hit 50 hrs. The stolen bases was a forced creation. He controls his team and the league. Baseball has come to this? And I like Ohtani.

These boys need to slow down a little. Pump the brakes. Ohtani is special, no doubt..But, Josh Gibson hit over 370 for his career, Ty Cobb & Pete Rose both had over 4,000 hits, Cobb had a lifetime batting average of 366..lets throw Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Willie Mays, Tony Gwynne in there just cause. I can name a 100 more..ohtani is not the greatest ever..Not even close.
