On November 22 night two Indian Reserve jawans were shot dead by their colleague in point blank range. Reportedly, a scuffle broke out between 3 Indian Reserve Battalion jawans which resulted in the death of 2 jawans. The jawans were having a chit chat on some topic however the accused got angered and took out his service rifle and shot the victims from point blank. One jawan was from 10 IR while the 2 others from Special Task Force including the accused who allegedly shot dead the other 2 colleagues. The victims has been identified as Kevisekho Khate, S/o Lt. Ngulhu Khate, 10 IR from Khonoma Village & L/Nk Zhiwongba Yimkhiung (STF) son of Throngsomong from Pungrong Village. During the interaction with the family members of the victims by higher officers, the villagers demanded life-time imprisonment for the accused and ex-gratia to the victims family. It is to be mentioned that the perpetrator has been arrested and is under police custody at Jalukie police station
