Hey, I’ve been enjoying your videos for many years and you are clearly a talented guy with a passion for the guitar. I really hope you do not take an ounce of offense to what I am about to share because it is only offered in the spirit of friendship and good faith. It would be awesome if you were to imagine that a metronome is clicking along with you in 4/4 time and therefore really explore the steady groove a bit more. I notice that your jazz time feel is rubato mostly and so I think the main thing that will really take your jazz playing to the next level is playing perfectly in 4/4 time, then letting the rubato be a conscious departure from the steady, swing groove. I am not perfect at this either but once had someone point that out in my playing and thought it was life changing for helping my time feel. I’m glad somebody told me and wanted to help. Enjoy and take care!

You stated what I've always been telling students. Almost every thing you play should be in time. Don't just sit there and play lines or chords or tunes out of time. It will destroy your ability to play in time. Very bad habit.

I would like to hear you play a whole tune in tempo to really hear the instrument.

Tastenful playing. What do you think about these george benson models? I haven't played one myself yet, but they seem to be pretty solid instruments

That specific guitar is one of the easiest playing guitars I have ever tried. It was beautifully set up and played flawlessly. Also, the slightly smaller body size made it sit well on my leg. Lastly, the Super 58 pickups get a real rich, warm tone...and no, Ibanez is not paying me for this ... the guitar is solid!
