I don't see the issue, if you find a cute piece of clothing that's children's clothes and it fits you because you're short, whether it's "abnormally" short or just shorter than average, why not buy it? if you can't find adult clothes that fit you size wise there's no problem in buying children's clothes as long as you like them and want to
@clownrat5759
8 ай бұрын
@@arsena5209 that’s the issue at your end statement. If she WANTED to, she would. Getting TOLD to buy children’s clothes can be utterly demeaning. I would wear certain children’s clothes, as I’m very petite, and have shopped in the boy’s section before. However, nobody TOLD ME to go buy children’s clothing. She has the body of an adult woman, and wants adult clothing, I can’t fault her for that. But I can fault the people telling an adult woman to wear children’s clothes when she would if she wished to do so.

Considering some kids clothes look like adult clothes, there's a lot of kids clothes that simply look childish simply because they are kids clothes and as an adult you don't always want something "cutesy". I hope you get a sewing machine because then you can learn to do more professional tailoring of your clothes! 😊❤👍

It is the relatability really. I can relate to her frustration with clothes and I am 5ft tall... it is because the standard sizes don't account for diverse ethnic body types so I get frustrated that my butt and thighs aren't Euro-centric... they are Caribbean-centric. I have small hips but the junk in the trunk and thighs are thick. I did found husky boy clothes to do the trick and fit well. However, I also love Medieval techniques of having the clothing accomodate to body changes through the tying method at the waist. Think of the hakama from Japan or the split-side skirts of European fashion. Here is a video to give you an idea. kzitem.infoc2deOq4IDbI Having ties instead of buttons or zippers helps to customize the sizing and accommodate to the bodys' fluctuating body changes. Plus I can wear those massive 18th century pockets underneath and have the side-slits needed to use them with the hakama pants or skirt. Very comfortable too.

Okay, CRAZY IDEA, but what if you use the scrap fabric of the pants to make a top? Rip open the seams and then use that to create your pattern pieces!
@rjvision2153
4 ай бұрын
Depending on some tailors, if you bring in your own fabric they can make you pants or shirts to you for the same price that you get at a store. The first time in will cost about 150 because that’s them making a pattern for you. But after they have a pattern then they can make you as many patterns as you want from that pattern. So just compare prices to each tailor per hour and go with the mid line one. Not the cheap one or the expensive one. Whoever is in the middle then that is the one.

I am a 26 or 27inch leg at size 18 or 20 in the UK. Top wise i wear mens sizes L to 3XL, though 3XL is too big (i like baggy clothes). I am not good with sewing but am thinking of getting into it. Girl. You're telling me that brands do not make size accommodations for your body type?! This should be just as common as plus sizes, tall sizes, slim sizes, etc.
@Stop_Infanticide
8 ай бұрын
It's not.... dwarfism is a very small market. Companies usually mass manufacture the sizes and styles that can be sold to the masses. The more they produce, the cheaper the manufacturing is (think about it as buying in bulk vs buying a single item), and the bigger the profit ends up being. This is why up until several years ago, many brands did not cater to plus size consumers, the cost to manufacture and market exceeded the value of the product. With extremely slender and tall builds, and petite and short, it's realpy a hit or miss. There ARE some brands that make clothes for both categories, but they're usually single owner/run out of a home or super tiny shop/ hand tailored or manufactured in mini batches... aka they're incredibly expensive. Making it impractical for the average person with these builds to aquire a full wardrobe. Honestly what she does makes sense. It's not only more cost effective, but it allows her to get the styles she wants without dropping $300 for a pair of niche-jeans. It's what my sisters have done for eons with mens slim/tall jeans, just trimming off the excess, and getting a pair of new jeans for $50 vs the $450 it costs to buy from the only manufacture who makes jeans for women over 6ft.
