Thanks for this one. I met Bill Nolan at the World Fantasy Convention back in '79 along with several other of my literary heroes, Bloch, Fritz Leiber and Stephen King, who Mr Nolan introduced me to. He was a wobdertul guy took me to breakfast the last morning of the conventionn, and was quite helpful in my attempts to someday become a writer .

Love coming back through the catalogue and finding one I hadn't heard yet. Thanks for the ever growing archive. Scott Miller is now the benchmark for science fiction narration. Others are going to have to lift their game.

This was the first Nolan story I read and I almost did not listen to you read it, it just creeps me out like I Am Legend. Its interesting that there were murderous children in Logan's Run too, I want to hear more stories by Nolan.

WOW!!! What a great story that is. Thank you for posting it. It's too bad Rod Serling didn't find this story. It would have made another great apocalyptic episode of The Twilight Zone.

Glad you enjoyed it!! It was a great recommendation. From the moment I started all the way to the end I felt like this would be one of the best stories I've ever narrated. Great writing does that. Now I need to see if I can get my hands on some other stories written by Nolan.

@jacqueline schael when I narrate these stories as often as possible I try to picture the scenes in my mind. I could see him on the barren streets trying to stay hidden, scrounging for food in stores and under the city so he could stay hidden. But when I pictured him at the end... that was indeed terrifying!
