Intriguing and informative, Mike - thank you! But - what we are seeing, of course, is how to paint 'Mike's trees'. So distinctive. However, your techniques are easily applied - the forming in your imagination to start with; letting the water work for you; and the paper; choice of brush; your boldness with colour; 'taking-off' the paint, as well as overlaying it while still wet. Lots of ideas! When painting trees and other growth, a tip that a very successful watercolourist friend of mine gave me - was to choose just one base-colour green throughout the painting, adding blue/yellow/whatever as you go. That's not your signature style, of course - but a useful thought for us amateurs. Best wishes, Michael x
