I had a 2000 Corolla. One of the most reliable cars I've had. Yeah, it had the oil burning problem, it always had a check engine light on for the catalytic converters, shifted rough etc. But you know, as long as I topped up the oil Everytime I gassed up, It never gave me any major issues. My Corolla didn't have the optional abs. So one morning on my way to work, this guy switched lanes in front of me without signalling and slammed on his brakes at a yellow light I was about to clear. Long story short, my rear brakes locked up sending me sliding into him totalling my poor Corolla. But at least the guys insurance payed out when I showed them the dash cam footage. I will never forget my Corolla. It was the most basic car, it was slow, seats were uncomfortable, and it was loud. But I loved it. I knew it would never fail me. Rest easy Robbie Corolla 😂❤️💔

For people hating on Corollas... sorry its not a ferrari or a lambo. It's all you can ask for in a car that you can get brand new for 15k... or a used one that can last for years for 5 grand. This was my 1st car and i had almost NO problems at all with it. I had a 2000 Corolla and i sold it at 227k miles last year. Yeah it's dull and isn't exactly fast or fun to drive but hey, for a 1st car. Reliability, good gas mileage and low matinence is all you can ask for.

Manual uses yr left foot everytime when you change transmission..In traffic jam situation, manual like a hell to drive. - less option...radio; you can change aftermarket radio easily with better option. The important thing that the maintenance cost is cheap. There isn't more electronic to maintain and you can fix it by yourself easily....

+Taijean Moodie The car is bulletproof. It does go through oil, but other than brake jobs and a clutch, this car (5 speed) lasted me ten years with no issues at all. got to 300km before the suspension gave out. Go for it!
