The very reason I left the concrete profession almost 25 years ago. Can't rely on others most times. Always had the same issues you had. And the ones that were the great finishers it seemed I had to buy them at exorbitant prices out of the bars. But when you have a reliable crew, you are an unstoppable force and it's a great place to be. I switched to a profession that I never have to worry about others, just myself and even though the excitement isn't the same as pouring mud, I don't miss the disappointment at all. But I'm hooked on phonics watching your videos because guys like you, Bugs are what a well oiled machine is in that profession. The rest are flighters... meaning they don't have that love of work or the profession, otherwise they'd be there daily without excuse.

I know this comment section is supposed to be positive, but if a few of these guys did this to me, they’d be fired. I’ve mentioned this before and someone said that I must not know anything about construction…. Well my Grandfather owned a Construction/Contracting company for 45 years, and EVERYONE is expendable. When you have a job, especially with a license to drive Dump Truck, you have a responsibility to be reliable. This is literally costing Ryan thousands of Dollars. There’s a 1000 guys that can drive Dump Truck, wash tools and stand around half the time for $30 an hour. It doesn’t matter what your qualifications are, if you can’t show up, you’re no good to anyone. Having a good attitude and being reliable if far more important than qualifications…. Love how you manage to stay positive despite things going wrong such as workers being sick some not showing up etc. I hope it gets better or that 2022 gets better for you when spring rolls back around.

Two guys and a driver who should have retired 15 years ago finished the work that day in 5 hours. Cry me a river.

Might be time to let Darryl go. I don't know how much more you can take? I would be completely done by now personally. Way to stay positive!

Jeez Ryan!! If I had a boss like you back in my trade days I might have stuck with it. Bugs is O.G. and doesn’t seem prone to leaving you hanging.Tons of resp3ct for the Bugs of the world. Seems like Covid might be running through your crew. Take care brother.
"I've been sick all week"...please stay home when you are sick. Nobody wants yo flu/cold/covid :P Though I am sure Ryan appreciates Buggs? being there and being so reliable.

For real. Darryl turning up last week probably got the other two sick. Obviously if people start to call in regularly then they might be taking advantage.

608 DOLLARS!?!? Why on earth was it so much? As for Darryl, there are no boundaries he won't cross with you and that's a major problem. I guess he doesn't realize how easily you could continue to run your business without him. You are definitely a better man than I am, I would have sent him down the road a long time ago.

It’s always refreshing to see such a humble guy doing videos like this, I have never worked construction in my life yet I found it extremely satisfying and relaxing to watch this guy, I’m here before a million

You operate that skid loader and all your attachments like you have a spare set of arms. I’ve been in the construction industry for a very long time and I’ve seen experienced operators not even as close as good as you.

When guys dont show up its because its a job with no health insurance no vacation pay no sick days or personal days no pension just a days pay while the boss even though he may pay well he sets himself up and in the end he's fine. I wonder if you 1099 your guys or have them on payroll with a W2. All part of the game of contractor. I was a contractor for 25 years and don't miss the gut renching feeling that you feel when they shaft you in the AM. Its passive aggression at its best.
