You will really learn to appreciate Shot Marker when it comes to shooting a standard target black bull where cameras don’t show the holes, especially way out at distance. The Shot Marker has allowed me to run practice at the range without an assistant. Before Shot Marker, I had to bring a partner to take turns pulling in the pits. Now, I can work at 600 and beyond without help. Competition matches have run far easier with Shot Marker than when we had to pull pit duty. Awesome system that is worth every penny.

Great video showing the multi bullseye capabilities of the Shot Marker system. I have used mine over a year and a half. It is especially useful for long range practice at 1,000 yards. We set the target up in the morning and two or three of use take turns shooting without stopping for the whole day- very productive. The only time we have to go to the target is at the end of the session to take it down. The performance is excellent and the product support is outstanding. The price is a bargain when you compare it to the alternatives. A few of us bought a Silver Mountain unit prior to this for $3,500! We sold it and bought a shotmarker for each of us.

When I was in basic training, we had a system to show where your shot landed on a torso sized target. Of course the military has a huge budget, and this was even before Windows was used. It was at 300 meters, if I remember right, and was a green screen with a little light that showed where the bullet hit.

We use this kit at our range to run F Class competitions as well as other shoots and it is a brilliant piece of kit. Yes, it is 3D printed to keep the development costs down, this is a new company (under 5 years) so needs time in reinvesting and grow the business. High quality of the components, the connectors, cabling, the distance with the LoRA wifi (over 2miles!) and replacement parts easy to obtain if they get shot. The 3D printed parts may feel rougher against plastic but they are strong and weatherproof so functionality-wise no complaints. I would like to see the cost drop and welcome that with a move to moulded plastic parts but hey, it all works and works well.

this makes me think of the system at the ranges bloke on the range shoots at. Seems like it is going to be accurate enough for most of your uses. If you get the stakes set in the ground better all you would have to do is provide tension in one direction to keep it from moving around. some bungee cords going to the tree truck or post in the ground would do the job. I really hope you do more military surplus again especially 7.5 swiss. You could cut the NRA target so the black ring is about an inch above the bottom of the target and you wouldn't have to worry so much about shooting the frame. keep up the great work!

I like the new target system you got , now I need to get my target back stop set up better and I had a thought on your target if you run a brace from the top back out to the ground at an angle for stability you could make it with hinges so that they fold in when you bring it back inside

If you try to chase the plane for the sensors you are going to have issues as you are using a wood target that will warp twist and bow with the temp and humidity. May be chasing your tail. Just a thought. Also to cancel some the wobble try some backing staves or diagonals. The amount of error between the lab radar and the hand measurements is quite impressive. If the system is measuring sound then the only factor I do not see accounted is your height above sea level ( air density affects Mach numbers) and humidity. The dryer and thinner the air the sound waves will travel different than in thick humid environs, just like water boiling at lower temperatures the higher you go on the planet.

you should concrete in the posts and then have some guide wires going from the top of the target stand to the ground behind and in front of the target at a 45 degree angle to the sides this will give you 4 tie downs from 2 eye bolts at the top and should eliminate all slop from the wind blowing.

The shock cone from a flying bullet is 3D. I have no idea what the target box has inside... but it has to solve a 3D problem to get the 2D bullet X-Y position. The top and bottom mike set have to measure the time the shock cone travels from the top to the bottom, like a magnetospeed, which has really close together start and stop pickups. Try doing that at home. The designer earned the $$$, IMO. WillyB

When using at a higher or lower altitude then it's specific parameters are set at you will get some variation in feet per second. Contact labradar and let them know what altitude you are shooting at barometric pressure humidity and they will be able to tell you what your discrepancy will be on your system at that altitude.
