Good evening Wes, "I would have not have" (or had after have always past participle or verb-3 ) "I would have not have finished the project without your help". I don't understand why you chose this phrase "would have not had" instead of using have. A figurative situation: Wes doesn't like broccoli but the broccoli was on sale and everything was so expensive. So, Wes bought some broccoli, cooked it and ate it for dinner. He wasn't feeling right, so he thought he should not have eaten broccoli. What a blame!

It's still confusing for me using would have and could have because there are so many possible answers. And using could have sounds more natural to me, like... I could have gave him a ride. Using would have would be bit tricky for me and incomprehensible.

Cont: Wes was thinking he could have bought a smaller amount of carrot instead of the broccoli. Perhaps Wes wasn't able to change the past, he could not have had any carrot as his dinner. He would have gotten anything else but he had no money to buy anything else. Is it a good story? Thanks for the lesson!
