The joy of the folding mechanism is that it's acceptable on buses and trains. Some trains take full size cycles, but capacity is limited and restricted. Fold ups? No problem.

I got rid of my mountain bike many years ago. Then I got a folder. It took a while getting used to it then it was great. I use it for commuting, shopping and picnics. I have some local hills to deal with. I got another one and went camping with it. It folded up and fit in the tent with me. I've got a trailer to add on if I want to carry more stuff. I've taken my bike in a taxi, on a bus, train, the underground and taken it inside with me at meetings. I've even taken it inside IKEA, trailer attached.

I did it! I'm finally on the road! Im riding "el camino del norte" in Spain. I've rode more than 700km in 9 days with 3 long 100km stages. So far so good! As I'm used to mtb, this is a little bit different and, yes, more difficult. That's not a big problem since i'm well trained but I do not recommend riding a 6 speed bike to anyone without proper trainning. Some climbs are very difficult and very often i have to stand up to pedal stiff parts. The 2 backpack setup, one front, one back, is really comfy and practical and i can't be happier with that. It's being a really good experience and i can't wait to do more road trips with this bike! Thank you for your work, you have been an inspiration!

I bought a folding bicycle for $95.00 from a guy on craigslist. It Is an adventure brand sold at camping world. 6 speed, rear rack. I tore it completely down, sanded the frame and truck bed coated the frame, fork, and handlebars. I really like it it's fun to ride. I'm 6'4" at 210 lbs. wasn't sure I would fit on it but it's not a problem at all. Love your channel brother.

Space isn’t a premium (although I do have a lot of bikes to store), and I don’t need to transport the bike often, but folding bikes are great at getting around town, on short trips like getting groceries. They’re also fun to ride and look like nothing else on the road.

I've found folding bikes to be very poorly made and slow and you end up using twice the amount of energy to get anywhere compared to a conventional quality bike. My mountain bike fits in the boot of my car with the quick release wheels off.
@hobocyclist

Interesting points. I have seen many poorly made bikes of all kinds in different quality. Mountain bikes are great, and will fit in a car but you need to own a car! I like to travel slow and i take my folding bike on the airplane, train or bus for no extra cost. There is a benefit to any kind of bike travel!

I have an Airminal "Joey" (twenty-four inch wheel) and I would say it is very well made, I think it depends entirety on how much you are prepared to spend.
