#AskGMBNTech Hi I have a headset related question, my Scott Scale needs a ZS44/28,6 | ZS55/40 but most the headsets I find online are ZS44/28.6/H8 | ZS56/40 so my questions are what do these numbers mean, where is the difference between the two and will they both fit my frame? Thanks for your answer and I still love your show, I miss Doddy but Owen is a really great addition, loved his videos so far!!!! Cheers Mo

Only if the Float X2 is a 2024+ model. My Spire’s Float X2 was constantly mixing oil and air and making the classic X2 squelching noise before it started leaking oil everywhere. Fox has given up repairing the 21-23 X2’s and warrantied mine with a new 2024 Factory X2 that so far has performed flawlessly (fingers crossed).

@gmbntech Thanks for the response - Not what I was hoping for haha. I'm 87kg and do use the lockout on occasion BUT most times I do I forget to unlock and have a bad time. I was hoping the low speed compression on the Float X would help with pedalling, pumping, flat sections etc so I could run it a bit softer and that would help??. I have the RS select quite hard to prevent bob I really hate bob, but that makes it quite harsh. But if the low speed compression won't be enough to help tune it for the best of both worlds it looks like the Float X2 it is. #askgmbntech

#SpringMTB Y'know most people with a bike has a car rack (or has a mate with a car rack... Just strap your bike to that to do the adjustment... BTW, for people using Bike Racks for the 1st time... Be careful not to leave your front (or back) wheel behind an exhaust pipe on a long trip... We burnt through a $100 tyre on a 200k trip just with the hot exhaust gas... I say Front as it usually hangs lower on a bike rack..

#askgmbntech Shimano SPD vs Crankbrothers Clipless Pedals. I’m a clipless pedal noob, I’ve tried both brands or kinds and it seems that it’s easier for me to release with the SPDs. My issue is I find the Crankbrothers more comfortable when pedaling due to the wider platform even with the easy release cleat on. My questions are; 1. Is there a certain way to release from Crankbrothers pedals? & 2. What is the better pedal to use for either MTB riding or Gravel riding? You all are great, thank you!
@vladivanov7645
10 ай бұрын
I was clipless noob just a year ago, so I've tried quite a lot of different brands and styles. SPD is a wide conscep so many companies used it with some modifications and usually they compatible with standard SPD cleats. I didn't like original Shimano SPD but I was super happy with Nukeproof Large cage pedals, massive Downhill platform give you enormous support, same time much easier mechanism to clip in, I was used SPD 56 multi release cleats, in my opinion that was perfect combination. BUT, last year I moved to the Avery Rimtech Magnetic pedals, that is game changer. Similar retention force as clipless but can unclip as easy as flats. No need to clip in, use it like flat. Perfect. I will buy second set this year just in case for the future. So good.

#askGMBNtech its commonplace for people to run tyre inserts on the rear for rim and tyre protection, lower psi, etc. some people run front and rear inserts but nobody seems to talk about the fact you would be able to run lower pressure up front for more grip which is a big plus, does it not make enough difference to warrant this up front or is it just not worth it as the front tyre and wheel gets less abuse?
@RicardoPetrazzi
10 ай бұрын
I'm running inserts on both the front and rear, have seen benefits from both the Rim protection aspect and I can also run some lower pressures as well. However.....donlt go too low as it's not always good and creates extra drag/rolling resistance as well.
