I think the biggest issue with going to US as a student from India is getting a work Visa - assuming you get a job offer after you graduate, you have a 10% chance of winning the work visa lottery. So, statistically speaking, theres a 90% chance that youll have to return to India. Assuming you win the lottery and get a job, the current wait time for Indian nationals to get a permanent residency is 100+ years! As long as you dont have a PR, you only have 60 days to leave the county in case you lose the job ). So, in my opinion, even if you get the best quality education in US, the odds are stacked extremely against you being able to work/live in US.. The only scenario where it might make sense is when you get a 100% scholarship, so you dont have the pressure to live/work in US.
