You’re investing in your family and your future, you are either in or out , you are smart and your wife is smart and capable, nothing ventured nothing gained 👍

My sister in law ( in village in Philippines) has been running her sari sari shop for 30 years. We have lent money to her for stuff to sell for fiestas- but she has paid it back after. The neighbours on the other side opened a similar shop funded by a USA charity. It lasted till they had eaten all the stock and spent all the profits. I think - if it’s been going a while and you know how to make it work then great. A brand new business may or may not work. I’m looking at doing maybe - an air b&b possibly. No way would I invest a lot into it though. If it works then great if not then fine.

Statiscally (from what I see on KZitem), foreigner invested businesses here don't fare too well.
