For me best results were reached by slow dye release of filtered cold water or chamomile tea and about a tablespoon of lemon juice. It gives me very dark copper red color for my greys and is not drying at all. I have curly hair. I let me henna mix to sit over night and then apply it for at least 4 hours. Just tea is not coloring my greys, same if i just add amla. Hot/warm water release dye fast, but the results are not as bright as with acidic liquid.

What benefit for difference does things like lemon juice and teas add to it? Does it make the color different or something?
@HennaSooq
Жыл бұрын
Hello. You don’t have to use lemon juice as your primary, and only liquid ingredient in your henna (herbal) hair recipe. So many people would have turned away and abandoned henna and natural herbal hair care if they thought they could only use lemon juice. Lemon juice is acidic and can be very drying on your hair. You can add a small splash of lemon juice if you’d like. We usually add a bit of lemon juice. The most highly recommend liquid to use is warm water. You can even use tea (any variety of your choice), or coffee brews as well (for dryer scalps be careful with these as they can also be a bit drying). Chamomile tea has become quite popular to use in henna hair recipes.

@HennaSooq

@@emptythoughts3060 this can help boost the longevity of the dye but it can also drying for normal-dry hair types. We actually advise against lemon juice in your DIY hair recipes due to how drying it can be. Lemon juice is typically the downfall of a person's henna for hair experience

I did my first Henna and waiting for it to set now. I did a mixture of black tea and very strong coffee and added instant coffee to the mix. What she said DOES NOT APPLY to natural blonds or redheads going for strawberry blind or golden copper shades! Use the chamomile tea brewed in distilled water, not distilled water plain. _Why_ you ask? You can never go lighter, only deeper and darker once henna is on. Once again, it's like she forgets about a key demographic buying from her! Natural aging redheads are the most logical demographic to want to use henna! How about a video aimed at us?

Hello. Color results can vary depending on your natural hair color or on how much grey hair you have. The lighter the hair and the more greys you have, will pull the most red (sometimes even an orange). Therefore sometimes, repeated applications are necessary to get better color. You should add the ingredients that you mentioned when you prepare your henna. Dye release depends on what kind of henna you used from us. We have a complete guide that you can follow here to help you in the process of coloring your hair: hennasooq.com/blogs/frontpage/complete-guide-how-to-color-your-hair-with-henna-and-indigo/. We hope this helps!

@@miaschu8175 welcome, to me, it definitely brought out the red more than the lemon juice. How can I get henna out of my hair to dye normal dye over it?
@miaschu8175
2 жыл бұрын
You can't, is the simple answer. If you used natural henna, with no salt or metal additives, you can try using a chemical dye 3 months after you used henna. However, if the henna dye did have metal or salts, using henna afterwards can ruin your hair - think chewing gum! I'd never go back to chemical dye now, even if I could (allergic!)
