Bought a 2009 D5 one of these at auction for £1500 in 2020. 80k miles. replaced the front bumper, rear shocks and serviced it. 40k miles later its been to the Arctic circle and back, crossed Europe, been a daily commuter and doesn't skip a beat! It also turned out to have the Polestar Tune! Best car I've ever owned, they don't make cars like that any more!

I ran one of these a few years ago. Fantastic seats, plenty of 'go' from the 2.4D motor. It was an 07 pre facelift. Faults - massive turning circle, obstructive gearchange and a less than brilliant ride. But it was superb constructed and a fantastic car for long trips.

Reminds me of why I ended up slowly falling in love with my old 9-3T. Wasn’t as much fun to drive as the 1 series coupé I had previously, but the fact that it could handle anything thrown at it and every occasion with absolute aplomb, I couldn’t help but appreciate the effort that had gone into practicality of design. I’m now needing another motorway eater and while the S90 might be too big for living near a city centre, you’ve given me the idea the S60 could be worth a look.

I gave very serious thought to purchasing an S80 with that Yamaha-sourced 4.4L V8. It's a true wolf in sheep's clothing and the narrow angle V8 makes a lovely sound when you wring it out, too. Volvo is kind of the ninja of the car world. Not many people realise how good they are and they just are a bit "inconspicuous". Nice video as always. Just can add. On the engines for this generation. They started from not advised to buy 1.6 Peugeot diesel, probably the most economical one 5 cylinder 2.0 diesel version with 163 horses. And top of the range diesel was D5 2.4 liters with two turbos. At stock 215 hp and can be pumped up easy to 275 hp. Ask me how I know. :) From petrols not to be advised to buy there was 2.0 non turbo version from Ford. Then most reliable 2.5t, there was also really nice 3.0 T6 engine coupled with awd system and of course it ended with 4.4 yamaha v8. Actually your car is sort of special it has highest trim level called Executive. Hense the massage seats, analog clock and there was an option for the cooler behind the rear middle seat arm rest. In terms of radio. You can switch the stations on the steering wheel by presing the arrow buttons. Dont think it is too hard. 😂👌🏻

I love the engine sound, many other brans feel kind of weak, Volvo seems like a strongman compared. Volvo engines are nearly unbreakable, but when they do break they're nearly unfixable. If at any time there's been a timing belt snap or jam, have the engine inspected piece by piece, nearly always some damage. Would recommend any Volvo as long as they are not a diesel. Shame none diesel models cost an arm and a leg here in the UK, for some reason everyone's a diesel fan. Avoid diesels. Unnecessary complexitiy with all the diesel systems, just stick with petrol where the engine has less things that can go wrong.

I have a 2000 Volvo s70, the seats in it beats my friends 2014 Clio. So comfy to sit in. Sadly gonna have to sell it because I’m going to buy a v60. I’ll miss it ):

D5's are great, if you can get them decatted. I did see one such car but I suppose it's down to how stringent your MOT tester is. My mate's wasn't decatted and it was in limp mode more often than Quasimodo. Rapid, with a manual box when it wasn't though, even the older 185 BHP version he had.

You're not wrong about the safety aspect of Volvo's, I bought a 360 GLS, about 100 years ago, no one bothered me whilst driving around in that tank, not even the local constabulary.

Great Video! I want to see C30 R-Design in your hands. The best it will be facelift T5 model (super rare and hard to get). ;) If you need one for review I have 2.0 Petrol from 2011 (Berkshire). In my opinion a much better choice than BMW 1 and the rest of the boring competition. This car looks amazing, drives well, it's solid build and rare. You just want to invest money in that car, because of that.

Your best video yet IMO. Very enjoyable, great jokes, honesty and thorough, a fine mix. keep it up mate. Please review a Renault Laguna Mark 3 with a 2.0 diesel 150bhp if you can. Thank you. I really enjoy your channel & content.
