Like if you prefer the MK2 design! I own a 2008 and would rather have a top of the range mk2 to an mk3. The round and curvy lines are exactly what made the TT popular in the first place. I also prefer the interior classic design of the previous generation.

I've recently bought a virtually identical car to this one (only the Quattro model) having had my M135i written off in a flood. The stand out positives for me are the ride is better- far less crashy than the BMW despite being on larger rims and the handling is really sharp. Brakes feels strong despite being smaller disks and calipers than my old car. Cabin build quality is another level too- I thought the BMW had a good cabin but there were some cheap feeling plastics in lower areas. And I have the Matrix LED headlights which are incredible. Some negatives though- fuel economy seems worse than the m135i despite being 1 litre, 2 cylinders and 100 bhp down on that car. And I can't believe how tight Audi are with the options- I've only got rear parking sensors and there's not even a radar display (my 2008 Scirocco had that FFS!), no power folding mirrors, no centre arm rest (on an S-Line? WTF?! I don't remember the last car I owned that didn't have this) and the fake engine noise is kind of annoying- it doesn't come close to the sound of that BMW straight 6. But the biggest plus is the look of the thing, it's stunning definitely a car you glance back at after you've parked!
@oddities-whatnot
7 ай бұрын
“Cheap plastics in lower areas”. Yes, areas of the cabin you don’t look at OR touch. Wow. How DID we manage to survive with car interiors being full of plastic in the 1980s ? Millennials started all this obsession with soft touch interiors. They have a nervous breakdown if life isn’t perfect.
@staggabob
7 ай бұрын
@@oddities-whatnot Did my comment hit a nerve? The plastic parts I'm referring to are the trim around the gear lever, hand brake and glove compartment in the BMW so yes, you touch them quite a lot actually. The Audi is much higher quality in these areas which is why I mentioned it- I'm comparing 2 premium brand cars and it's clearly an area where the Audi is better. As for your attempted "Millennial" dig I sadly don't fall into that category. My first car was a 1978 mini and I've had plenty of cars from the 80s and 90s. If you're not bothered by cabin quality there's plenty of modern cars to choose from- even VW have gone backwards recently.

Thank you for this video, as usual excellent. Do I trade in my old 1 series m sport 2l diesel convertible from 2012 in for a TT 2l petrol? My wife's car is a 2015 Audi A3 Sport convertible and our 6th Audi since the mid 1990s, 2 80s, 1 A6 avant, 2 A4s and the A3, so I think we like them but I've loved the old school BMW

Hi I’ve got a mk2 2ltr TFSI, I love it but thinking about buying the mk3 2ltr Quattro, what’s your thoughts as I’m really questioning myself ???

a stock 230hp remapped quattro would probably be very close to the TTS and you won't have to deal with expensive magnetic ride shocks

My thoughts exactly , i have a BMW M135i and was thinking if a MK2 TTS next but a MK3 TT quatro with a map would do me just right i think :)

Retro fitting is around £600 to £700. Good review, however the car is been around for nearly five years, hence old technology now... Keep it up.

@@HighPeakAutos back in late 2014, I purchased my first one, but since it recently came out back then sat nav was £1750. I'm now on my third one!

Top review as always. A really good car I’ll stick with my ‘06 Boxster S though. 👍😉

Very good and informative video. My only concern is that your voice comes up very quite at times. Maybe use a better microphone. Thanks for the video.

2L 245hp quattro version costs around 100k with some exterior and interior packages(not even full extra). The price of this car (not even the rs one) its just nuts. Audi takes a big L from me, im going for a supra with 35k less.

The problem is the black interior...why the black interior Mr German ?....its depressing...the Itaiian stuff may not be so tight to drive...but it is a lot more airy

Girls car... No seriously the average height for a woman is 5ft 3in. I've known a couple of ladies who drive these and can fit a couple of mates in the back for short hops round town.

Hello - I watched this and your Mercedes c220 coupe review and would like your opinion on which is the better of the two cars as an overall package - thanks

Now who do I know that could hand me £20k so I could buy this car but then by now you will have sold it on to someone that can appreciate it, as today I've been looking at TT's and TTS but everyone wants ridiculously high prices even for high milers. Oh well maybe in the next life I'll be in a better position to buy one - Cheers Matt.

As much as I enjoy your video, I will have to disagree with your point on the interior. The one that looks old fashion it's actually the mk3, conpared to the mk2 one, which if you replace that old radio with a 9 inch touchscreen stereo, it looks much better than the interior of the mk3. I own an Mk3 now and all I can say is I miss a lot my old interior on the MK2.

Engines of TTs are very easy to tuning, so from mark 2 2,0TFSI You can get easy 300ps without TTS

So am I right in thinking that a 2014 1.8 Tfsi is a late MK2, not a MK3? Anyone have one of these? Any good?

I've never heard an Audi TT called a hairdresser's car before! Maybe hairdressers are charging too much. Poor man's Porsche perhaps.
