Are these loans able to be paid off early without penalty? It seems the prices on Carvana are more, but their interest rates for me are lower and I can pay the loan early thereby reducing total interest.

Thanks for this channel, i really learn a lot. Since you brought car gurus, what do you say about the scams used by car dealers. For example, I am looking for new Chrysler 300. In car guru price between 21k to 24k. But when I went to get them the price jumped from 21k to 29k. One of them offer 18k for new one. But when you call to check if that’s real the price jump to 38k to same car.

Another great vid. My question is what terms should we look for in auto financing, other than the rate? A whole percentage point only changes the payment by $20 on a 50k loan for 60 mo.
@scottr2706

Twenty dollars a month over a 60 month loan is $1,200 extra, or 2.4 percent of the price.
@BPawn6

@@scottr2706 Agreed, but you're talking $240/year. I live in the DC area and that's what it cost to park your car for a month. The term and amounts on car loans are too short and too small to quibble over a point. Now when you're talking a $400,000 mortgage over 30 years, yeah, you fight for every quarter point!

Zach mentions “space” often. Allow me to submit my dimensions. I am a loan officer at a local credit union. My designated space is approximately 12’ x 14’. My desk phone is the vehicle by which members may occupy my space and by which I may break out of the same. All the best.

Not clear on this.? Is this pre qualification a hard inquiry on my credit? Once you fill out the pre qualification is it for a certain amount of money? If so can you go to any dealer then find a car and say I'm qualified for that amount. Isn't that the same as paying cash to them then?

Even tho cargurus asks for the ssn of the individual getting pre qualified, it still doesn't effect one's credit report negatively? Any help would be appreciative!

It does a "soft pull" which doesn't affect your credit score. Only "hard pulls" affect your credit.

think just getting your own from credit union or bank is best way, and also super quick.......basically same thing your already pre qualified before you go.....and they have to beat it or just hand them a check and walk out the door

I have a huge question when it comes to buying a car, so not sure if it was this video or a different one but you guys were talking about getting a car financed through the dealer I believe or brand/make of the car if they offered loans like GM or Toyota financial, anyways you talked about getting the deal from them so you can get incentives and whatever promotions and than pay off the loan before the first month's statement comes out! My question is wouldn't getting the loan add like interest to it? Like lets say you take your loan for like $25k right? And you get like a idk 4 or 5% wouldn't they add that percent of interest to your 25k before you get your first payment so they give you a total of what you owe? Or if you paid it before your statement came out would you only owe like those $25k that the car originally cost?

When going through pre-approvals with Car Gurus is the process a soft or hard pull on your credit report?
@stevee8318

I am pretty sure it is soft, but check the fine print in the application process. it should say something like "this will not affect your credit score" etc

Soft pull. It tells you ahead of time and I can confirm as I use credit karma and no notification came through about any inquiry.

It says soft but I've always been skeptical because it asks for your social security number.. I've never been asked ssn for a pre qualification but I have been asked the ssn for a pre approval. Idk, I'm curious myself. Let me know if it still doesn't effect your credit or if it does! Goodluck all!!

Could you do a show on whether it is wise or not to buy a hail damaged car from a dealer who repaired the damage? Can you get the same financing? Is the insurance different with hail damaged repair? Thanks. I live in Texas and there are a bunch of hail storms and big discounts on cars.
@acarlX
4 жыл бұрын
It would depend upon how the dents were repaired. Was bonded applied to fill in the depressions and then vehicle repainted? Not the best and a short term solution. Now if paintless dent repair was used where the metal is massaged from the backside and the metal dents / impressions reversed, then that is a more lasting and proper fix. Now the carfax may show sheet metal damage repair and that will lower resale value (even though repaired) at a future date. A number of years ago I bought a Dodge Dakota that was 2 years old but had numerous hail dents on the hood and cab roof. The price was reduced because the owner took the insurance payment to repair and discounted the selling price. I found someone who gave me a discount on paintless dent repair for removal of 31 dents in hood and cab roof. Today you cannot tell that there was any hail damage. The only issue that appeared after a few years was in the area on the hood that had quarter size hail dents, the paint has chipped. I am thinking the heat on the underneath side of the hood caused this to happen. Similar sized dents on the cab roof have no paint flaking / chipping. So if you can find someone that can give a discount on paintless dent repair, it might be advisable to take the discount on vehicle purchase and fix yourself.
@thomasconrad2729

@@acarlX Thanks for the info. The cars that I am considering have paintless repairs done by specialists the dealer contracted. The discounts range from $1500.00 to $3500.00 plus another dealer incentive.

So it would be a good idea to apply for financing through the dealers website? You would recommend this, because it gets the ball rolling, they do the credit check and you're able to negotiate a lower rate depending on my credit? I hope to buy a Honda HR-V and 0 Iknow that the interest rates through Honda are pretty good these days!

having financing set up prior is always a good idea.....should shop for financing first and car second.....youll know your rate and what you can afford and shop for, plus the dealer cant hike up interest rate......credit unions are awesome

you can also use any rebates involved with using their financing.....than before first payment comes go to your credit union and refinance the car....doesnt even matter what the dealers interest rate is cuz you wont be using it anyway
