You mentioned the price and justification of spending that much on a keyboard. I think if you're using a computer all day, then there's really no justification needed on buying a solid comfortable keyboard. It's your primary tool. It's like if you're a runner, you don't cheap out on shoes. Now if you were talking about something extravagant like a gold covered keyboard or something that was completely cosmetic with no additional function, then sure, you might want to decide if the cost is justified. :)

@@harshibar I finally took the leap into buying a mechanical keyboard (Corsair K60 RGB Pro Low Profile) last month and have been using it for work. When I was done working for the day and would then use my personal computer with the traditional keyboard, I found that old keyboard more and more unpleasant to type on. I seriously couldn't stand it anymore and ordered a GMMK TKL to replace it.

Bought myself a Leopold keyboard and i swear i can't even go back to the mid-cheap mk again. No RGB/ Backlighting also a cons for me since they can skip it and focusing on other features like: keycaps, stabilizers, build quality and mastered touch typing is really an F-bomb to those RGB unless you need it for decorate gaming setup lol.

Nice, was waiting for this video. 🔥 I'm really interested to try a mechanical keyboard now (with the super silent switches - didn't even know there was such an option 🎉 )... The only thing I'm still worried about, is if I can actually type on it. I never learned the official 10 finger system, but have kinda my own 6 to 8 typing style 🤪. Which is just as fast, but I make weirder moves so I'm concerned that I get kinda 'stuck' with the higher keys 😅. Might still try it though 👀...
@harshibar
3 жыл бұрын
The Silent Red switches are your best bet if you are looking for something quiet. And I don't think your typing style should affect your transition to a mechanical keyboard. Regardless, there may be a 1 day adjustment period, but otherwise it should feel the same. You can also try a low-profile keyboard if you are worried about the higher keys:

For those who are new and are looking for "tactile" switches. DO NOT GET BROWNS. They suck. The tactile bump or feeling that you get when typing on them is so little it might aswell be a linear switch such as a red. But some people like the feeling of browns. Their not necessarily tactile but could still feel good for you

What is the best switch for gaming and typing (best all-around switch)?
@matt_w_elias
3 жыл бұрын
@@mxw2l I would say reds or maybe cherry mx silvers. They a light linear switch that is available with pretty much every gaming keyboard. If u dont want that unfortunately, browns is the only other option unless you want ear piercing blues. You could also get a more enthusiast level board like a gk61 which is quite cheap and also hot swappable meaning you can replace the switches by pulling them out instead of having to de solder. There are tons of switches out there not just cherry. So dont take my word for it. Kailh clicky switches, to rltactike glorious panda/ boba u4t, to linear reds/gateron black ink or milky yellow
