The Broken Earth Trilogy is one of the best reviewed science-fantasy series of the last few decades. It won award after award, and really solidified N.K. Jemisin as a master of the genre. It's a grimdark series set in a harsh world with even harsher characters; where the earth itself is quite literally trying to kill you.
Despite the reviews, and the awards... Is it worth it? Does this series stick the landing? Does it pay off an unique concept and an epic journey?
Well... Kind of. This series deals with some incredibly heavy subjects, tw for basically everything you could imagine. I also want to address that this deals with some sensitive topics specifically around race and discrimination. I am obviously personally removed from these subjects, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
