The plastic bb’s are very reusable for me. It’s still accurate and the gun is fine.

I can't help but wonder how pristine new BBs really are when they're packaged by the hundreds to a bottle and rattled around in there by so many hands and vehicles just to get from the factory to the store shelves.

I reuse metal BBs shot indoors. Pick them up with a magnet and make sure they are clean. Airsoft BBs are too brittle to safely reuse. Lead pellets I handload as buckshot for shotgun

I have an easy way to clean and wax/lube in mass numbers airsoft bbs with no problems to speak of. This is only for practice shooting. I came from casting and reloading so the tumbling process is familiar. If you don’t relube the bbs they won’t work very well at all. Same goes for lead rounds. All projectiles have to have a coating wether brass copper wax etc. sort good from bad. tumble clean. Tumble wax and reuse with confidence

I looked at a bunch of BB'S under a low powered microscope. They had been used only once and fired into a cardboard target. There were a few that had flat spots and some had more than one flat spot especially when you fire a BB into a Target that hits another BB that's where the spots come from. I put one down the barrel of my Daisy 499 B and it stuck, luckily the first shot injected it but that's the last time I'm going to reuse BBs in a quality BB gun. I have a few cheap plastic BB guns that I don't care about but for things like replica BB guns like my Sig Sauer or tanfoglio gold custom race guns I wouldn't use them over again. For quickly loading BBs into these magazines I just take a piece of paper and fold it in half load a whole bunch of BB'S into the crease in a line and then pour them into the magazine

My steel BB’s go into a trap in my ranges and are then washed in vinegar, sprayed with silicon oil, dried and go into a ‘re-use tub’ haven’t had a failure in any of my BB guns yet after many many years of use. Lead pellets are collected from the trap, melted and cast into 10mm Balls for my slingshots.

I haven't had any problems reusing steel BBs shot into a target holder made of multiple layers of corrugated card - just pull them out with a magnet. Since the BBs are shot from a smoothbore brass barrel and they are much harder than either the barrel or the target, it seems unlikely to me that they would significantly deform from firing or impact. Lead pellets, I would never reuse them, they do get squished and deformed. Plastic airsoft BBS, I have no experience with these so I can't say.

Unless you shot a soft cotton. DO NOT REUSE AIR-SOFT BBs They've been damaged internally and can break your gun, magazine, etc. BBs are cheap to replace, air soft guns are not. Be responsible.

Those ballistic alloy pellets often look like they could be fired again, but although tempted, I have never done it. It seems like a cardinal sin. I feed my guns fresh food, just as I would myself.

very nice and informative video as always.i have a question sir, actually i want to buy a .25 or .3 cal air rifle but the pellets are not available in my area. import could be costly. is there an option of melting "unused pellets" of smaller cal and cast them into a .25 or .30 cal pellets and long bullets. if yes, would it be safe for barrel?

❗As a British🇬🇧 guy, I find it weird that Americans are talking about BB/AirSoft/Air Rifles when they have the real thing. As I was watching this Video, I was firing my Walther CP99 and saw some undamaged ones on the floor.

Just bought my first air gun a few days ago(dpms sbr). Ammo prices are through the roof in America at the moment,it’s to expensive to shoot for fun. I can run my BB gun all day for the same price as a mag of 9mm ammo. I think airguns will become alot more popular here
@leighdappa

How much does a 9mm mag cost? Do you buy them separately from the bullets?

Possible but not worth. Steel bbs can be reused much easier.Especialy if shoot at paper targets and behind the target to have a pillow. Then you can reuse them as much as you want. Pellets simply dont worth the effort. But is possible. I have for many years 177 cal cheap airgun. Like 10 dollar cheap. And i dont care about damage the rifle. I shot many steel bbs through it. Its possible.

I’ll just make a compromise here. Any of the bbs I shoot out of my nicer replica guns into my targets with soft backstop will be gathered and given to my kids to I Set for their red ryder and the like. The pellets I’m going to start holding on to for big bore slugs.
