I got 4c hair and pretty decent box braids (I'm like 2 weeks in) other than making sure your scalp is hydrated what other forms of maintenance should I expect

I experimented with braiding 3 small dreads to one and it buds a lot faster than comb coil technique...but hey...that's just my opinion.

I am white, considering getting dreadlocks, I want to know if I will get a lot of hate from it. I know some people may not like it, but I’d love to know how much ‘black’ people hate it when ‘white people get dreads.

i started my loc journey already w a lot of hair on top and got it braided late may. i wash my scalp w cleansing shampoo 1 a week bc i work out a lot so my braids are starting to become a lil more frizzy should i continue to wait out the growth process or should i go to a loctician and get them loced/retwisted ?

I have locs turned from braids. and I'm not gonna lie, I sometimes regret it, not because it looks stupid or ugly, cuz it really don't, I just wish I started with the two strand, cuz my locs are slim, because the braids I started them with was slim. whereas the two strand would have had my locs a lot thicker (pause). So that's my only regret. but as far as how it looks, it looks as good as any other fresh retwist.

What’s the difference between dreads and box braids besides the fact that u can remove box braids? To me their the exact same they look the same braids just have more of a pattern.
@VinnyMatthews
3 жыл бұрын
You’re pretty much right on. Dreads are matted hair that aren’t manipulated. Box braids you can take out. I wouldn’t say they look the same. Compare a box braid pic with dreads. The textures are way different.
