Sometimes I have great discussions in interview follow-ups. A question I was asked recently by a client was whether or not they should go work for a company which had recently been acquired by a private equity firm.
Different than a venture funding round, a private equity investment can mean any number of things depending on the fund strategy, fund lifecycle, management team turn over, and stage of company. If any of these terms are unfamiliar to you or you have been considering a role at a company acquired by a PE firm, hopefully this video addresses your questions and concerns.
I've spent my entire career as a tech executive, but have extensive work experience both inside a PE firm, and in my current role as owner of an advisory firm who works exclusively with PE firms. There's a lot of great opportunities to sling shot a career for those willing to step into one of these roles.
