Macklemore has been an ally, and has been criticizing capitalism and corrupt name brands for a while now. I’m glad he also spoke on Palestine. I have so much respect for him.

Macklemore has been gaining a lot of people's respect lately. People have been barking up the wrong tree asking for their faves to stand up for what's right (rightfully so, but don't keep your hopes up). But in the end, who has the courage to speak up this unapologetically? MackleMORE!

I wonder how many (famous) artists felt guilty when they heard Macklemore's fantastic Hind's Hall track. After all, their silence is also a form of complicity.

mack was so real for that, especially for holding truth to power and openly saying he wont vote for biden. kendrick and every other “politically conscious” artist needs to step their game up and put their “politically conscious” money where their mouth is.

Kendrick been giving back to compton since 2016 at least. tpab had multiple tracks that have been used as anthems for black liberation. his entire discography is rich with political commentary. and he's just one artists. That's nothing to say about the countless others (Lupe, Lauryn Hill, Denzel Curry, Common, Saba, Noname, etc.) if the hiphop space is not your thing that's fine, but pleeease don't discount generations of activism, donations, and inspiration just because it doesn't look like Macklemore.

@@AmirRichardson-ut2zh i acknowledge and admire all the good works they have done for their own communities. but i am specifically referring to Palestine, which the vast majority of celebrities are radio silent on because they fear potential backlash that their support could get from angry zios, despite the fact that their situation is by far the most desperate and most in need of support, especially from americans and people with influence. you can’t genuinely claim to be a voice for the voiceless unless you help those who need the most vocal support. even the weeknd, who’s main brand/persona isn’t based on politically conscious art, has donated nearly 5 million dollars to Palestinian organizations that desperately need the money. not to say that less political artists shouldn’t donate or speak up (everyone with influence should be donating and speaking up), it’s just not as expected of them as artists who brand themselves as politically conscious. i know him and mack aren’t the only ones but most influential artists are not doing nearly enough.

You'd then have to revoke the activism of countless artists like Mack who never addressed issues like Katrina, police brutality, the flint situation, etc. when they were actively unfolding. Those people were in dire need and it really was only artist like Lupe who called a spade a spade when that was going down. I'm just saying this finger wagging you're doing at artists with political legacies that are equal too or greater than Mack's because they fell short/were regrettably silent on a issue when Mack has had his own shortcomings just does not sit right

Kendrick has done a lot I’m sure, but what you failed to get is it takes more courage to speak up against the Zionist than anything else that he has spoken for. It’s not a risk to speak about Compton or Katrina. The politicians are not trying to cover up anything their other than not really trying to help the people who live there. you don’t seem to understand the dealings between Israel and the United States. They will literally kill you for speaking out against Israel.

Yeah, free Palestine, not the black people in Sudan, not the black Nubians in Egypt, not any of the west African tribes (Dogan, Igbo, etc) that are victims of the fulanis. Only talk about the white Palestinians (Arabs are white) in the Middle East. Nothing about Africa being colonized by Arab and Arab aligned people as we speak.
@dinoscanfly

First of all , yes ppl need to talk more about the genocides in Congo, Sudan , etc. Second of all, this video was specifically about maklimore speaking out against the genocide in Palestine . Third of all, to say Arabs are white is completely false, and spreading miss information like that is arabphobic and harmful and just overall so disrespectful Fourth of all, ever heard the saying “none of us are free until we’re all free” talking about/speaking up about occupation in :Yemen,Congo,any indegenous ppl, Sudan,Palestine,the displacement in Iran, India,Native Americans, African Americans,the Haitis, Afro indegenous ppl, and the list goes on and on . She is talking about genocide and speaking up against it to give ppl a voice , if you are educated about colonization of certain groups ,than plz don’t just hate on this video , Atcually do something and help , like donating to charities, making a video on media informing more ppl , etc. So to ur sarcastic “yeah free Palestine” Yeah that’s the whole goal buddy ..cuz genocide is fucking evil. Same goes for Sudan , so go speak up about it instead of commenting this sarcastic message.
