To we learn how to make kashmiri shufta.
As the name says, Kashmiri Shufta is a traditional dessert which is loaded with lots and lots of nuts. Every Kashmiri celebration, especially weddings, are simply incomplete without this delectable and crunchy dessert. Feel a burst of rich flavours as soon as you take a bite. The dessert is prepared using rich dry fruits.
SHUFTA
Ingredients
Almonds : 1 cup
Walnut : 1 cup
Raisins : 1 cup
Cashew nuts : 1 cup
Pistachio : 1cup
Ghee : 2 tbsp
Paneer : 100 gms.
Sugar : 1 cup
Dry Coconut, sliced : 1 cup
COOKING:-
1. Take a mixing bowl and add all dry fruits one by one into it. Add enough water for soaking.
2. Soak the dry fruits for an hour. Now drain water & keep aside.
3. Heat ghee in a wok and let it spread over the pan. Add paneer that is cut into small cubes. Fry paneer until it turns a golden colour. Transfer it into a bowl and keep aside.
4. Add dry coconut to the same wok and fry coconut pieces till light brown. Once fried transfer into a bowl and keep it aside.
5. Now add soaked dry fruits & nuts to the same pan. Fry it in the ghee for a minute and add sugar and mix well. Fry for a minute by stirring.
6. Then add little water to it and cook till sugar dissolved completely. Add fried coconut slices.
7. Add fried paneer cubes as well. Sauté it well.
8. Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes on low to medium flame. Turn off the flame and transfer to serving bowl.
9. Serve hot or cold.
