The Trans-Siberian Railway is the longest railway in the world. The entire line was completed in 1916 and has been in operation for 97 years. It connects the capital of Russia "Moscow" with Vladivostok on the Pacific coast, crosses the Ural Mountains that divide the Eurasian continent, and extends over the coniferous forests and steppes of Siberia with a total length of 9,288 kilometers. It is called the "spine" of Russia and has a pivotal impact on the economy and security of Russia and even Europe and Asia.
