Tremendously helpful video. Lowest estimate was $400 to fix and 4 days for the part to arrive. Cost me $25 for a replacement mirror combined with Amazon Prime to get the mirror in two days. Took me 30 minutes to fix, 10 of which were stupidity related.

That's just great. This is what makes me want to make more videos so people like you and me don't end up getting ripped off $400!!!! Thanks so much for the comment!

Thanks for this. I was able to save myself ~$100 doing it myself. However, I did have a problem with the door panel afterwards, which ended up taking me 30+ minutes to figure out and fix (the trim came off the top of the panel, had to be reattached, and then it would not fit back over the frame where the window comes out.) After many profanities, I eventually figured it out and now having a working mirror. The other thing not mentioned here is that some of these cars (like mine) have a speaker in that little triangle, which can make it difficult to reach the lower bolts without pulling out more of the door panel.

Worked with a 2012 corolla sedan too. Unclipped the top, triangular speaker part, unscrewed the screw behind the door lock( I tried without unscrewing but could not reach the side mirror connector), and everything was finished within 15 minutes. Thank you!

Appreciate this video. However, before following this videos instructions, definitely familiarize yourself with how to pry/remove the trim. I pulled the trim off without knowing about screws which hold it together (such as the one beside the door handle) and ended up doing some damage to the trim. Now the trim is slightly separate from the door. The mirror installation went very well.

Great video but I would of liked to seen how you snap the panel back together at the end. I put he mirror in with no problem. But side panel does not fit flush after putting it together. Have any idea how I can correct it. Thanks

Someone in a parked car had their door opened into traffic and I didn't see it until the last second and couldn't avoid because I had an SUV beside me. Mine is a 2014 Corolla but you're right the installation is the same. kzitem.info/news/bejne/0oyw2Jt9baecbG0
