My family is from the Venice region. My goal is to travel all over Italy. Each one of Rick's videos just increase my anticipation. I love everyone of his videos. Since I'll be close, might as well visit Germany, Austria and France as well.

Loved my time in Sienna. It was just not enough! Best pizza boscaiola I had in all of Italy. I even got invited to be part of a cassada, which was a very humbling experience to be included when they really didn't need to. I missed Il Palio by a few days. Next time, I have an adoptive family waiting for me to share in the excitement!

When I see any historical buildings in Italy I fell like climbing the walls and reach the top. Too much assassin creed.

I really used to like watching Rick Steve's until one day I realized that he focuses heavily on Christian churches. It seems no matter where he visits, he manages to gloss over the myriad interests of that country to make mention of a city's center church, cathedral or religious site, usually recognized by Christianity. It's like being handed a religious tract from an evangelical. I've been to many of the places he visits and don't recall going specifically to see any churches. Ideally, and in keeping with the evolving interests of this nation, he'd be more like an Anthony Bourdain of Europe. Until then, I will fast-forward over the clips where he mentions the words "Christ" and "God."

Ironic that you show the downside of a tyrannical government, while being a mouthpiece for the Democrat party in your own country.
