Jim, I gotta say, I love your content. It fits your channel name perfectly of just being a dude exploring life and this lifestyle we all have and sharing your experience. Not a bunch of egotistical garbage and harsh factual statements. I appreciate it. It's extremely relatable, humble, and honest, which is something that's hard to find nowadays in this industry's social media phenomenon. Keep it up!

One of the best features with them that other LRF Binos don’t have is the ability to zero the reticle.

Hey, Jimmy. Solid video, as usual. I know you recommended doing gear "research" at matches, but is there an INTRO range finder you'd recommend? Also, what's with the blinky levers thing? 😁

I am torn as I've been wanting to purchase these for awhile, but it gives me heartburn trying to justify it. THE ENDING OF THIS VIDEO AT LEAST MADE ME LAUGH AND ALEVIATED THE HEARTBURN FOR A MOMENT!

Go for them if you need to range past one thousand yards..... If not, it's probably cheaper to buy lesser range finder and kestrel. But there are things this thing does you can't currently get elsewhere.... If you do get it you won't have to upgrade ever lol...I have ranged stuff to 4599 in the mountains....and it was almost instant...1500 yards in misty fog(which usually kills less powerful range finders). On board hud is pretty sweet to get all the info needed to make most shots if rest of the system is on(shooter wind ect ect)

Hey, you talked about a giy once who shot a red dot magnifier out very far at a match and did well. Was it an eotech and did use the multi dot setup?

Good review of an expensive but interesting product, Jim. Thanks. A couple years back, I thought a bit about the Sig BDX system, the enabling of ballistic calculation without the understanding of why/how. While I can't 2d guess the time savings, I wonder about people skipping past important fundamentals because the gear lets them do it electronically. The same considerations about points of failure you mention on the Kestrel connecting directly -- that consideration applies to all e-connected management. What if you've only used such devices, and suddenly have to do it all with your reticle, your eyesight, your trued data/dope, and your experience & wisdom? I work with a Leica handheld laser ranger, but I'm more interested in reticle ranging, no electronics, just for fail-proof interests. If I were flush with cash and regularly shooting matches, these Sig binoculars would be very tempting. Though I confess I'd feel a bit like a cheater using them, no matter how many others were doing so. Probably shows how little I know about match shooting, eh?

I wonder the same, I haven't done any long distance shooting but the idea is appealing to me. I can't quite get rid of the feeling that if I wasn't able to be decently proficient without all this extra gear I'd feel like a bit of a poser.

Its the fastest range finder I've ever used....also ranged 1500 yards in rainy weather.......expensive.....but man they work...... Adjustable reticle is clutch..... Abs software is icing on the cake

Expensive for sure, $2500 is a lot of scratch. For standalone monoculars, Ray at X-RING did a good review of a few kinds within a good price range (affordable to expensive). Within the last 9-12 mos at his channel I think. Are these Sig binoculars optimized for their BDX system, from your POV? Or are they good even if you aren't using a Sig optic w/ BDX?

@seanoneil277 I don't use the bdx....I do use the rest of the software. Not much experience due to work schedule....but it's super nice having all the atmospherics....(unless you have a kestrel) . My main reason for going so big on the range finder is I like to shoot elr for fun. My last range finder was my limiting factor....and being able to get an accurate range is crucial to not using up a bunch of ammo walking on target 🙃. It's performance in inclement weather is impressive to me but these are the best I have used so far no experience with the home loan expensive ones lol(9kplus)

Two things i wish this bino had, when ranging and connecting to kestrel is that it also would send the DOF. Second thing this had a lefty verison for us left eye dominant folks and other bino lrf's as well.

I'm trying to decide on two different range finders. One with GB ballistics and one without. If I still plan to get a kestrel that has ballistic capabilities, is the extra $ necessary on the range finder?
@lbryant8014

Probably comes down to time. How fast will you need the ballistic info? Competing on the clock or just using out in the field.

For the poor folk, like myself, Astra Optix and ATN have some more affordable offerings.
