That engraving is horrific. What a shame they did that to an otherwise perfect gun.

I’ve got the 1987 P226. My father in law left it to me, I didn’t even know he had a sig until after his death. This is my everyday carry, it replaced my S&W MP Shield.

Love the trigger job that was done, but definitely not a fan of there marking stamp on top of slide. Looks like you’re really excited about what you got so that’s all that matters. Great review of your Sig…

I just bought a p220 9mm W. German with a heal mag release for 500. I still cant believe it. The trigger is out of this world.

Why would you let that company ruin your gun by putting that logo on?
@PracticallySquared1

The previous owner let them do it. When I got the gun most of the work was done to it. I got it part of a trade I made out like a bandit on, plus it’s just a West german 226. Great gun but not that collectible, also with all the other mods done to it, it’s not so much a collector gun anyways. It’s a shooter and a pretty dam good one at that.

I've got a 78 220 and I must say the reset is comparable to the SRT kits they currently install. The DA does have a gritty feel but I'm hoping it'll improve with use as this one appears to have been kept in a safe. The follower isn't even scratched so time will tell. I'm in agreement regarding the difference in WG craftsmanship and current US production and I'm taking nothing away. You simply can't find anything made by true craftsmen today without spending a lot of money. I bought my first 226 in 87 and Sig has been my preferred platform since...

The factory Short Reset Trigger is very nice on a Sig P226 and P220. I have Blackwater Tac P226 and Elite P220, both with an SRT and Gray Guns full setup. I did the Gray Guns setup and polished the trigger on my P226 which makes a big difference.

How do I properly read those slide markings? Mine looks like it says JF. Mine hasn't been altered from factory in any way except for normal wear and tear. The slide shows holster wear and there is a tiny bit of surface rust on the slide serrations.

Would you say the ppq is one of the best striker fire pistols out there...

Danny Di in my opinion it is the best, I'd say the p320 is a close second.

Your barrel looks blackened like mine. Any idea why?
@PracticallySquared1

SuperSuperdude88 they are black but being that their older and used some of the black is wearing off. The hood of the barrel is silver because of the slide.

A stands for 0. On a side note....the Sig letter code and HK letter code has a few differences which I find strange myself. Sig doesn't use an I and HK does for example. I forget which letter HK doesn't use.

Danny Di it's not even close, the west german is just out of this world. The PPQ is great and I love it but my west german 226 is probably my favorite handgun ever. I even like it more then my cz I think lol. It's a close one. The PPQ is great but man this things a tank. I may do a video comparing the PPQ to these

So you ruined a W German by engraving it cool
@PracticallySquared1
6 жыл бұрын
Nick Smith actually the previous owner did. I got this with all the work already done to it. If you knew how great of a gun it was and how cheep I paid for it you would’ve did the same thing. Also it’s not a nickel plated model so collectability isn’t a big deal on these. The finish isn’t pristine either. This gun is a shooter, I’ll probably never sell this one.
