I will always respect someone who admits a mistake, it shows character. I just ordered these 2 lenses for the same reason you use them and you get a sub for being honest 😉

I believe this line of lenses were made having photographers on mind … that why the non switch for the aperture ring . Waiting for the rumored 50 f2 and this one is on it way 👍🏼

Lmao the apology section was great. What do you typically shoot? Your lens selections are making me think you shoot a lot of video. Any stills? You ever plan on throwing down on a 70-200 2.8? I would definitely value your opinion on more telescopic lenses… assuming you have any interest in that realm

Thanks man I'm glad you liked that part. Hope you're doing well. I normally shoot mostly video but I have a decent understanding of photos I am by no means a pro though. I like the idea of modern zoom lenses but my gripe is that I never seem to find one's that have a wide enough aperture and being stuck with f2.8 and above seems like it'd be somewhat limiting. Never say never though, I'd love a 24-70 2.8gm or the 70-200. They're both amazing lenses as far as I'm told and I'd love to review them, I just don't have 2 gs to drop on lenses right now. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other requests

@@SamuelJamesVideos I do kind of agree. I’m a bit of an aperture whore, so I tend to just stick to the primes as well. I shoot knives almost exclusively, so I get kind of lucky. With such a small subject, even something like 300mm 5.6 will completely melt the background… buuut shooting products at 300 mil is a pain in the ass. I grabbed the Rokinon 135 F2, and that thing is surreal. Phenomenal lens, if you can stand to manually focus. Anyway, awesome work. Lookin’ forward to the next one!

@@radialbladeworks6183 That sounds like you'd benefit from a macro lens. My biggest upgrade for shooting product stuff was buying a macro, the 90mm F2.8

I never use lens hoods either, especially for video. I want all the flare, and a lens hood means I can't use a variable ND filter.

Absolutely - I'm 100% with you on that. What I'm finding out as I get further into photo as opposed to only video is that lens hoods are a photographers thing. They have very little value to video makers especially if you're shooting in daylight because I have to use an ND filter to shoot video during the day. Lens hoods = no ND filter use. Have a good one!!!

@@SamuelJamesVideos There are a bunch of photographers who use flare very deliberately. Check out mpassin on Instagram, his images often include the distinctive circular flare of the Voigtlander Notkon 35mm f1.4 M mount lens. You have a good one, too!
