I always remembered the horrible way Kane's unconscious, dying body was spasming whilst everyone looked on in horror.

I've heard that the Actress who played Lambert had a bit of a Panic attack after that and had to be calmed down, which is a heck a lot understanding! Amazing though!

I don't blame her. I remember the whole theater jumping out of their seats during that scene. Imagine being 3 feet away from Hurt during that shot!

Segourney Weaver is such a great actress and possibly, she is one of the first women in acting as a brave character in cinema.

Brilliant, brilliant film, with not a lot of dialogue. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Everything is so overblown now.

Fantastic account! Makes film all the more interesting after all these years. That an actor can both not be acting and afraid another in real peril is nice bit of humility from a most vain egotistical art. As science student I was always disappointed at the lack of logic like creature grows from cobra sized to lion. But back then this and Jaws used absence of the creature to such suspenseful effect.

I love to meet Sigourney Weaver. I admit in every horror movie the hero is usually a man. It was shocking when it was revealed that Weaver was destined to be the hero. But yes, Kane's death scene as the Alien bursted out of his chest is what triggered the horror. I remember when some students at a high school in New Jersey did a play to pay tribute to the 40th anniversary of Alien's debut in 1979, and Sigourney Weaver was there to see it and was very impressed. The Alien franchise is among my favorite Sci-fi horror movies of all time. "In space, no one can hear you scream"👽

@stevielambert8262 Oh. Didn't know that. But in my opinion the choice to have a woman hero was perfect and unexpected. Classic horror. I salute all that played a role in Alien.

Well Ridley Scott planned it that way and it was a combination of not knowing what was happening and the genius actor that was John Hurt. I can watch that scene over and over and it never gets old. I saw it when it came out when I was eight years old, it was poor judgement of my parents to take me and my brother along. Sounded like a horror house in that theatre when that scene happened. I'm sure Ridley Scott had witnessed the reaction he's been immensely proud of his work.

What if Ridley Scott was in a movie, and then the person directing that decided to mess with him where something happens that he doesn't expect, and then it turns out he's not acting but the footage is kept and used anyway? Do you think Ridley Scott would admit that he deserved it, given what he did to those actors that Sigourney Weaver was talking about?

@@moaningpheromones It doesn't matter how they phrase or word it. If you know what they meant, then that's enough.
