very interesting that the fly can consume the figlet, avoid the latex and fool the fig to think it is ripening just to protect itself ! I wonder what type of chemical compounds does that larva emits in order to cause that ? Whom ever finds that could revolutionize the fig market by enabling figs to be artificially ripen at the store though picked prematurely. Don`t want that fly around nevertheless.

I’ve heard a 1/4 strength solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide will work as a soil drench to kill certain fly gnat larvae in the soil. Do you know if it would also work against the BFF? Is their any organic homemade sprays we can make and use to kill flies?

@@jasonjennings6686 had a customer come into our nursery a couple days ago in Santa Ana and he said he has them in Dana Point. I'm in Mission Viejo and am growing TONS of figs, no signs here yet.

@@imkevinchang awesome! We should meet up and trade. I have 15 varieties here in DP and 30 trees in ground at my parents ranch in central valley Cali.
