In February 2024, after dreaming about this trek for 5 years, my friends and I finally embarked on the Mardi Himal trek. This journey took us to the base of the majestic Machhapuchhare peak, also known as Mt. Fishtail in the western world due to its unique shape resembling a fish's fin.
Machhapuchhare holds tremendous religious significance, and its summit remains untouched as climbing is forbidden by the Nepalese government. It is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen.
Special thanks to our point of contact in Nepal, Prem Dai. He is an experienced mountain guide and a wonderful human being. Prem Dai helped us with gear rentals, permits, lodging, and even route planning. We would definitely recommend his services!
