My dad taught me to pick up all the trash and put it in the trash cans, place the cans next to each other, all used towels and washrags in a pile in the bathtub, all sheets and blankets and pillowcases taken off and in a pile on the bed, place all dishes in the dishwasher if one is available, rinse the coffee pot and throw out the used packs and then we take the trash out with us when we leave or we bag it up and place it by the trash cans as we leave. You leave it as clean as possible and do as much of the work as you can bevause they have families they want to get home to too

I was a motel maid (that's what we were called, back in the '70's). Oh, the stories I could tell. I was a full time university student, rode my bicycle 6 mornings/week to clean 14 rooms. Stayed on Sunday (check out day for most of our guests 😮) to work the afternoon in the motel laundry. Also had a work study job on campus. Glad I had the experience!!! I was lucky that I never had any disgusting experiences.

Tip your hotel housekeeping well, they clean up some awful stuff. I once had customers vomit in their pillowcase. I bring my own sheets and leave them there when I leave. Even high end hotels have disgusting guests.
