🙌🏾Thanks again for producing these narrated lap guides 🙌🏾 Wonder what your comparative thoughts are on this track with F1 2019. Using the automatic lap guides, they have braking points deep into the start of the turns in the S curves. Whereas the GT cars prefer braking in a straight line then trail into the corner. Would be awesome to see your take on approaching Silverstone in a F1 car or even the F2 cars which feel more lively in the steering!

I don't know why but Silverstone is the most difficult track for me. It has two nearly identical start straights and after many-many laps I still don't know which one it is and the corner after that. The track is so wide that I don't know what line to pick. Just terrible. I will never master it.
@andersrasmussen3942
4 жыл бұрын
@@taavikoppel1769 I recognize your frustration. But you have to slow down for a while to get faster: Enable the ideal driving line in settings and do 10+ laps to familiarize with it. Next start to identify your braking- and turn in points. THEN you can start to work on your pace ☺ And yes it is a tricky track. I am still not below 2m00s lap time, after many hours of practice. But I'm anyway Captain Slow on all tracks 😂

@@taavikoppel1769 This is probably irrelevant to you now, but what Anders said about using the track guide to learn a course is INVALUABLE! Always, always, ALWAYS learn a track with that method. That way you'll soften the learning curve for each track. Once you have the points all memorized, then turn it off and see how well you do unguided. I started learning Silverstone, and on my first clean lap (5th actual lap) I got a first PB of 2:17s About 2-3 gaming hours and countless setup tweaks later, I managed to squeak out a single 2:03.78-- which caused me to nearly snap off my hand on my sim rig after a celebratory freak out heh heh -- after spending a whole lotta laps at around 2:06 to mid-2:04s. Point is, you WILL master that bitch. Which, I'm guessing, you've done by now, eh?

@@ObsoleteAcey Correct me if I'm wrong but maybe you still need to learn a bit about trailbraking and not instantly going flat(full throttle) at your exit. It can make a world of a difference. I'm still a beginner so I have much to learn in that category.
@ObsoleteAcey

@@dinordi9897 no there is still much to learn. I'm also using a G29, which while good, I find the brake pedal a little difficult to work with. It doesn't quite have the same feeling when lifting off as a real one. I'm definitely not going flat out in or out, but my trail braking definitely needs work. Not only am I using the same lines, but I even brake later, use more of the curbs on apexes, etc. and STILL can't get below 2:00. What the actual fuck. What blows my mind is that you carry like 10-15 km/h more speed through corners than I do when using the exact same lines. I just can't carry more speed because I get understeer. There is absolutely no way this is a default aggressive setup. I just refuse to believe that. Either that, or my game is broken. I mean I would understand if I was losing time by having wrong lines, or not hitting apexes, or braking too early, or simply driving it wrong. But I literally don't have as much grip. You seem to manhandle the car, throw it around like crazy, and get no understeer, it just sticks. You entered the 1st corner with over 200 km/h and let the car scrub away to corner exit. I tried this in game now, like 20 times, and if I enter that corner at that speed, IDENTICAL line, identical turning point, identical steering angle and rotation speed, I end up in the freaking tires to the left. It just understeers like crazy.

I know its an old comment but maybe because you’re braking later that you’re slower? aliens brake hard and late but not too late ( for example they brake precisely on a marker ) and then trail brake and then shifting the weight of the car so it would point towards the exit, the key is to feel like you’re countersteering but not counter steering at all, you’ll inevitably experience this one time so you’ll know what it feels like, maybe brake 2-5meters earlier and then try to accelerate out of the corner much sooner and you’ll gain so much more time rather than braking hard and later than what is optimal. They key to braking is to brake smart and not hard. I havent played ACC in like 4 months but when i returned to it just this week with GT3’s on Silverstone, on my first lap i did low 58’s on a track i’ve never driven GT3’s before and then the next lap i got too excited and drove too hard and brake really late on corners and i feel like this is going to be on 56’s at least but my lap was on 2.01 so next lap i just stopped trying hard and just be smooth and i was back on 58’s, i’m nowhere near an alien normally ( on a good day i’ll match them ). I have no idea where the hell im getting those other 3 seconds other than setup, track conditions, and most importantly mindset. The final 2 seconds of the fastest laps are all mental sided. You need to remember braking later is useless if you’re just going to accelerate later, the seconds you’re far from is not because of the braking itself but rather the braking is affecting the corner especially the exit which is much more important.
