It got easier after I managed to catch up and craft all the lands I needed. Granted, I play pioneer so it's only 1-2 cards per set I actually need at rare.

Draft a lot. Don't craft niche cards unless you really need them. Should work fine. Especially drafting will get you lots of wildcards fast.

If you are going to call a deck budget, you need to play it with the worse lands. I have made several of these decks and let me tell you without those lands the decks fall flat...
@ICantThinkOfAFunnyHandle
5 сағат бұрын
You are aware that the "$100" in the title means that the deck was constructed with a $100 budget in paper cost right? Not spending some of the budget on the manabase is just silly
@justinsmith26
4 сағат бұрын
@@ICantThinkOfAFunnyHandle This is a MTG Arena video right? I am simply pointing out that adding all the rare lands and showing video of that, then throwing a line out in the video addressing that you can make the deck cheaper by *NOT* using those lands is a bit - off the mark - for a budget deck video. I think people underestimate the difference in a deck's performance when using "the good lands" vs an attempt at lands that are actually budget friendly. If you disagree with that statement please point to evidence of the contrary.
@benjaminkarstad7766
4 сағат бұрын
I don't think he specifically mentioned it this time, but when he talks about not counting the rare lands, what he means is that if you already have the rare lands for other decks then you dont need to crack your wildcards for them, thus bringing the build cost for the deck down significantly.
@ICantThinkOfAFunnyHandle
3 сағат бұрын
@@justinsmith26 of course you're not going to achieve the same performance when you're using a different decklist. The video never claimed that using a worse manabase would give you the same results, the throwaway line about using a cheaper manabase was said because a worse deck is better than no deck if you really want to play but cannot afford the full budget deck.
