Are you prepared to manage a GPS failure in your multicopter during flight?
A GPS glitch during autonomous flight of an ArduCopter aircraft will trigger an EKF Failsafe, which defaults to switching the aircraft to Land mode. When flying over an unsafe landing area, the pilot must be ready to take immediate control using a manual flight mode such as Stabilize, to guide the aircraft to a safe landing zone without GPS assistance.
This is the type of topic that will be covered in our upcoming SIMNET Academy courses on failsafes and failure recovery for ArduPilot-based multicopters, planes, and VTOLs. Designed by experts including ArduPilot Project lead developers, these simulation-based courses teach best practices through hands-on exercises and offer official completion certificates.
