Couldn't have said it any better. I came on here after reminiscing about old shows, and thinking, would I ever find anything about the 2000s I might one day consider nostalgic? And my answer is no. Nothing. The 80s were just plain fun and cool. Everything was popping suddenly. Home computers became a thing. We had great music plus still a bit of 50s, 60s & 70s music being played commonly because ppl of those decades were still very active. TV almost always ended on a fun positive even though at times unrealistic note. It was just so much more fun. The perfect time to be a kid and young adult.

I know man.I was the exact same way. Watching shows like to hooker, chips and dragnet is what started my fascination with law enforcement and made me want to be one. All the cop shows today are garbage. Ppl don't understand that shows like tj hooker and chips etc etc were not meant to be a factual and realistic account of the day to day going one of a peace officer. Those shows were meant to build a bond between children and law enforcement and they did an excellent job doing that. My brother and I belonged to both the Chips and tj hooker fan clubs when we were kids children today do not have any type of show on TV today that is meant too build that bond and admiration for the law. Kids today act like they get scared when they see a cop. Which can be the cause of the piss poor parent or what they bsee on TV all the time. I can reme!Ber as a kid going to the state fair amnd just being in awe of the state troopers everything about them from their uniform to that cool hat. They always seemed to be milkes and miles ahead of other uniformed officers. They had this aurou about them. But those were all great shows if people would see them for what they are and what they were meant to be and stop looking at it as if it was suppose to be an actual simulation of a law mans life

The 60s were cool as a kid, and we lived a comfortable lifestyle (my dad was a developer in LA at the time); but there was so much social tumult at the time it was also a neurotic decade for us. 80s were a different story and nobody had it better than my wife and me and our kids.
