I understand where you are coming from, but passion is a fleeting feeling. The real goal is to enjoy doing things you don't like. It's like routinely exercising every day and eating healthy. You don't like it, you don't want to do it, it's easier to lay in bed and eat a burrito, but you do the hard thing. Nothing worth having comes easy in life. Most people can't find "passion" so you must focus on making that thing that is going to be 50% of your life for the next 50% of your life, something you enjoy. If you can't do that, if that is impossible, that's when you must make a decision.

As a former solder, I like Simon's concepts. When I left the infantry and began working in the civilian world, I have seen mostly horrible leadership in civilian workplaces. Too bad, it cost them employees. There have been about 3 out of 15 places I worked at that had decent leadership (Funny, the employees worked for just above minimum wage in those places doing very challenging work and there is no turn over because people stay for a long time). I now own my own company and lead my team with their personal interest, quality of life and loyalty in mind.

After I earned a master's in health care administration I walked away within six months to open my own business taking care of individuals striving to walk their own soul path. My thesis was in organizational development which is the actual topic of his new life's work. Glad to see it coming out into the public realm.

This was simply outstanding 🎉🎉🎉 He speaks so simple yet profound that you can't stop listening.. Real leadership is in people connect..driving passion..if you can ignite people's passion..you don't have to monitor them closely . They will create miracle for sure but then it always takes time..if you want to show growth or short term success then People connect is not for you.. Real Success doesn't happen in short term.. You need to groom, nurture, handhold people and make them feel that they are the company . They will always deliver beyond their own expectations.. Really an eye opener video.. First of all, Simon, thank you. For your time and effort into produce the first public aid (we can buy your book too, because is scented, the aroma and the interaction with our mind is unique, personal, nobody else can scent the same parfum, not the same way ). Together is better. I moved from highly stress life to a rural place in Nicaragua. My first priority in life is to have sense, a Meaningful Life and the restriction was who did it to me? then changed to how to explain it? then what are the causes? then more human, still logical, but no my emotions, my reason... What's of this is common to everybody? what's the common element? Who controls the element, how, who they are? What can I do? Can I solve it? Is the problem out of my scale? I solved it and I get motivated to get a job, I am still entrepreneur, but crisis affects finances, and that's a real fact, information that indicates that I cannot finance the minimum or that I suffer a terrible low in my standard of living, or whatever that you set up as priority. and then? I was searching for old music 1980's, Beastie Boys movie, etc. then a suggestion by youtube I have completed three, this is the third video of you that I watch. I compare the difference of the content and what's equal, a high precision product. Thank you for your time and effort to do a high valuable material to do the first step in the right direction: Helping others.

This guy memorized the whole speech. At some point he told Tom, nobody asked that millenial question and started the recorded tape, exactly same as elsewhere. On the surface makes sense, but I think in the depth there are more to that picture than what he says. It's not that I don't agree with what he says. Just that there's more to it than that.

Sometimes you have to be courageous and stand up for yourself,if you don't want it to get to a bullying type of situation. Most of those who don't, will be treated worse/and or less respected in the future. There has to be a limitation, of what's acceptable/allowed. In the Companies that have the old school mentality, and give preferential treatment on gender/or those whom, are a brown noser and therefore are allowed to barely work. The negative comments and atmosphere is stressful, contagious over time. Have to reprogram, thought process for sure.

I Saved this to show my students yet I have the answer that begins to create the best business ever. You need to then expound on those three areas. I can not claim I came up with it. I found it in a Forbes magazine as a quote from the company RPM. I even taught it to my General Manager and the General Manager after and unfortunately he knew The one minute mgr techniques and nothing else. I hope he came to learn them after I left. He was the reason I left. Anyway, the company RPM had a quote based on a question asked which was, how do you remain a top 400 company? The response was 1. Hire the best people you can find. 2. Create an environment that will keep them. 3. And let them do their work. I live by this as a leader. I also see these thing need to be expounded on as the guest is doing. Also, knowing their finding their multiple intelligences and top two love languages (Book Five love languages)in order to best show them genuine love from you as a leader. Also book , Leaders eat last, has some keys to good leadership. I hope this adds help to someone.

This is very disappointing and disturbing at the same time. I now have my doubts about what he's talking about. Apparently it's all learned by heart and he's not able to discuss about these topics. What he's saying here, is virtually identical with his other talks.

Are you meeting and connecting with people you work with ? Are you adding value ? Are their cares are taken of by you ? Caring for somebody and taking care of their cares are two different things.. Please ask yourself.. Leadership is never one time job it's always..day in day out..and it requires no title just a commitment to add value to our team members due to our experience and compassion for them.. If people respect you due to your title..don't get impressed and happy but if they respect you due to your actions then it's real respect .Leadership is never position but action..
