Listening to this discussion was truly a delight! Courageous and real. - A fantastic guest! A gem that Simon possesses is who he is and becomes. - The output of a steadfast and ever-growing commitment to bettering oneself and helping others.

Great interview but way too many adverts woven in. Such a shame.

Maybe most of their friendships are more like acquaintances and they don't have a person that they feel would even know how to help them. that doesn't mean you have to help them but maybe be more understanding. Also Simon, you're not looking at things very psychologically. People often have had things happen to them in their lives that you're not aware of. Putting up walls is something that may have worked well when a person was a child and it becomes habitual. It's a process that therapy can help them to see that that coping strategy no longer works for you.

Social Media destroyed my friends… They no longer listen and empathize vs judge and persecute in hypocrisy… 🤧

Good thing I've never been lonely. 😂 I'd rather keep the walls. The pain they're supposed to guard me from can only reach me if I first allow people to get close. Loving someone and being vulnerable with them is many things, both good and bad, but one of the things it is is giving them the ability to hurt you in a very unique, deep and jarring kind of way. Personally it's not worth it. The 5 minutes of magic, as he calls it, are not worth the months or years of pain. To anyone who may be reading this, I'm not saying everyone should keep the walls, I think it's a case to case thing. If it's worth it for you, I'm genuinely glad the good parts make the bad parts hurt less. That's simply not the case for me. And I'm writing this for the people who are like me, 'cause I'm honestly tired of stupid phrases like "b B bUt HuMaNs ArE sOcIaL aNiMaLs" yeah, no thanks. That being said, just because I keep people at arm's length, it doesn't mean I don't wanna treat them well. So this video was really good and interesting! Thank you for it.
