When you did those random trades with 4-1 RR and it was somehow profitable, I've done similar experiments and was baffled too. If we can flip a coin and trade blindly but still profit with a good RR, how the heck are so many people losing money? How was I losing money for so long? After some thought, I've realized it's like the experts say, psychology is the most important aspect of trading. All our strategy and indicators do is slightly tip the odds in our favor, so that we're able to increase winning percentages at certain RR ratios.

Great Video, one remark, you could have set the trades to BE when they reach 2:1 R so you do not lose money when the trades returns against you. It might change your calculations substantially.
@Abears_
3 жыл бұрын
If you move your SL to BE at 1R then when price hits 2R then move SL to where your 1R was and then when price hits 3R move SL to 2R and so on then you'll actually win a huge amount more and minimize your risk substantially.

Exactly the video i needed . I have a strategy with 1:4 RR but let me tell u honestly its not easy at all to stick to the strategy that gives u this much of RR , i myself sometime gets so fed up with big loosing streaks that at time i almost thought of ditching this strategy but at the end stay stick with it just bcause i know it ends up giving me profits even after big lossing streaks .. the only way u can trade strategy with 1:4 RR IS PATIENCE and if patience is not a part of ur personality thn better not to even consider it at all in a live market 🙂🙂

I actually implemented the ATR to my trading strategy since I usually use single digit SL.. I've back tested that portion and I would've prevented some losses and I've dramatically added profitable trades since using the ATR. Thank you!!! I've tried doing partial TP at 1:1 and moving SL to Break even...then I'll end up with 0.5% profit and then price will pull back in hit my SL. I'm going to stop trying for high RR and go from a 1:2.

Hi I get that having a solid risk management plan is important. Can you make a video on how say a $5000 starting balance is affected through strict risk management with this 4:1 plan. For example you highlighted at the end that the basic strategy had 10 losses in a row and dropped 18%. So the dollar amount risked on the first loss was higher than the last loss, but also the dollar win would have been lower as your 1% had decreased by 18%. Therefore would the account actually have increased by 34% at the end?

When you look at the candle color at 18:00, are you looking at the daily candle color to determine direction then dropping down to the 15 minute chart for trade execution?

Picking a specific and repeating time is NOT a random why of trading, maybe rather the opposite. Volume is down, institutions have already made their allocations and the daily news is more or less digested, so most likely a market will just go up and down in a small way. This will not favour a strategy will a high RRR.

Something I still dont understand about a risk/reward ratios is the profits that you will gain. For example, I go long and buy an X amount of units for $1 and I sell all of those units for $2 on a 1 to 1 Risk/Reward, then the money that I put in would be doubled. But if I have the same target of $2 but with a higher stop loss giving me a 2 to 1 Risk/Reward (and not getting stopped out) would still double my money, because my target is still the same. Then 1, why does that ratio really matter? And 2, Why do platforms then tell me that I would have more money in my account if my entry is $1 and take profit is $2 with a 2 to 1 risk/reward (higher stop loss), when I could have done the same with an entry on $1 and a take profit at $2 with a 1 to 1 risk/reward (lower stop loss)? Could some one please explain that to me? Thanks in advance!
