Simple and Practical Terang Bulan (Sweet Martabak)
This one is a perfect treat for your rainy, for its hot and melty texture is simply a winner.
Ingredients
Ingredient A
* 200 g about 13 tbsp all-purpose flour (cake flour);
* 15 g (1 tbsp) Tapioca flour, optional or it can be skipped away if you want to;
* 30 g or about 2 tbsp of Sugar;
* 10 g or about 1 tbsp of Milk powder, optional (I didn’t use it);
* ½ tsp Vanilla;
* ¼ tsp Salt;
* 270 to 280 ml of Water.
Ingredient B (Mix & Stir a moment before being used)
* 1 tsp Baking Powder;
* ½ tsp Baking Soda (for Asahi brand baking soda, you need to use 1 tsp);
* 2 tbsp room temperature Water.
Ingredients C (for spread and toppings)
* Margarine/Butter, to taste;
* Cheese;
* Jimmies;
* Chocolate jam, to taste.
Notes
For the baking soda, baking powder and water in the Ingredient B, it’s best to mix them in advance before pouring them in to the batter. Once mixed well, just put into the batter. If you mix them one by one just like what you find in the video, then the results will be less optimal.
For a more kicking taste, you can modify this recipe simply by adding 1 tbsp of Powdered Milk, and 1-2 Eggs, without reducing or increasing the dose of the remaining ingredients of the recipe above.
Add the powdered milk together with ingredient A. While the eggs are added together with ingredient B. That’s it… Apart from that, you just need to add more toppings, such as chocolate jam, roasted chopped nuts, gumpaste flowers for garnish, various flavored glazes, etc.
