Something that I found save a little extra time is to bundle your end bars in groups of the ten add glue to both sides before putting them in the jig. Makes it quick and clean with the gluebot and a small brush. Great video.

I bought a Metabo brand narrow crown stapler based on a video recommendation. I have so much trouble with it firing blanks, driving too deep, not deep enough, firing 2 staples. Now I wish I would have returned it to Amazon. I read the reviews on the one you’re using. Looks good compared to mine. Now I just have to convince my husband that I need a new power tool and get a Bostitch 😁. Lorie

I’m not a brand fanboy, but I have had ZERO trouble out of the 3 Bostitch staplers I have. I know Senco is also a well regarded brand...I use their staples.

I also use a Bostitch stapler...18 gauge...I can vary the length of the staples for bottom and top bars....very good equipment...

I’ve been very happy with mine. Have an 18 gauge a 16 gauge, and a T11 stapler from them.

You can adjust your air pressure regulator cut off & turn on closer together so you don't have such large air pressure drop. This will help with driving the staples all the same depth. Also oil/lightly lube the inside & staple slide area of staple gun will help on miss fires, the double staples just sometimes happens but is related to how you hold/how much pressure you push on gun. There are adjustments that can be made to staple gun it self (find a shop in the yellow pages or Google it) The hardness or softness of the wood will have effects. Good luck.

@@hcaveman6954 thank you for the great advice. I did splurge for the Bostitch and I’ve been very pleased with it so far. Right away it was working exactly as it should. My husband can have the Metabo 😉 Thank you again!!!!

So those are bee kits tht came unassembled? I don"t have any bees, my son does, and I'm just trying to learn about them.

I get most of my woodenware unassembled. It’s cheaper that way.

Just depends on how handee you are with tools. You might want to purchase just one assembled & painted to see how they are put together. Your 2nd through 11th hive you could get them unassembled & unpainted. After that if you may want to buy lumber 1×12, 1x6, 1x4, plywood, etc, to make hives from scratch. Only thing you have to get are the frames from a supplier. I would recommend any of the USA companies, Dadant, Mann Lake, Butterbean, etc. You want to stay away from the el cheap o stuff out of China, out of square, off size, just low quality and no guarantees to be able to return it. Good luck👍👍

Hello my fellow beekeeper, this was so helpful for me. I'm putting together a beehive and made a big mistake that I would like to ask you help with . I did not use 90* corner brasses to make sure they set straight, and now the box down line up with one another. So I have taken them apart, order the brasses, yet don't know how to correct the screw holes that are already set? I feel like even with the brasses intact, the screws are going to go right back into the same pattern and the boxes will again be off centered. Someone told me I do try to slightly bend each screw?!?! Or should I put toothpicks in all the holes then try to re-screw? What would you recommend? It would be so helpful to hear back from you. This is a project that is very important to me. Thank you so much. Brad

Several things you could do. First try it without fixing the screw holes and see if it works. If it does great. If not, you may need to drill the holes out a bit and plug them with a piece of dowell, then predrill your new screw holes. To plug, get a small drill bit the size of whatever dowell you're using, drill it out, insert wood glue, then dowell. Cut it off proud and then cut flush after it cures.

@@DuckRiverHoney Thank you my friend. I think I will try that and with glue. I've ask a handful of shop guys and for the most part, they are telling me to fix the boxes, using the corner brasses, and glue it all together. And once the glue is set like in 24 hrs, then try drilling back in the screws but don't screw in tight. Does this sound like something that could work? I'm grateful for your feedback.
