Great video guys. Artisan's and Craftsman have a verry difficult time pricing out their labor. if you use an hourly labor price you will defiantly price yourself out of the market you have to look verry hard at what your marker is willing to pay and adjust accordingly. Sometimes it's a labor of love not a profit margin.

well done guys - pretty hard to get cedar where I live without knots. A six ft board costs me approx. $9-10
@oldave100

Dang! If that's the case, you should be able to charge more for your signs, though. Even if not, it's still a pretty decent profit margin.

Great stuff! Are those Cedar fence pickets? My stores only carry cedar and a redwood, no pine. I’m stocked up with a bunch of cedar pickets and have been going through videos that have cedar in the title and trying to see if all things inset mentioned using Sanding Sealer on Cedar with no luck. I’ve got a gallon of the sealer on hand. So I’m leaning towards Cedar not needing the Sanding Sealer, is that correct? If the pickets you guys did were pine, then I believe it would’ve been mentioned that you used the sealer.
@oldave100
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeffery! That's correct. We don't use sealer on Cedar or Redwood. They don't bleed the way pine does. The only thing you have to do is make sure you don't overspray.

Great video showing the whole process with explanations! Nice. I do have a question though that I've never thought to ask... Do you supply hangers or hooks or anything or just sell them like shown here and let the customer hang them however they choose? Thanks!
@oldave100

With today's prices on everything, you really are pricing these conservatively. These look great and are handmade, as opposed to most things you find with laser engraving, though that is also very cool. I will say, your handwork with the router is as precise as any automated machine, if not better!
@oldave100

Thank you Aaron! I really appreciate that! The pricing will be different anywhere you go. We wanted to give conservative pricing in this video so it doesn't look like we're trying to deceive anyone. I honestly think you can sell these for this price anywhere in the country
